One thing I appreciated about The New Order is that it emphasized speed and movement over caution. In military shooters, hiding behind cover and firing from shelter are emphasized, but in Wolfenstein, you have to keep moving, or you’ll be torn to shreds. I’m glad to hear that running and gunning is a big part of The

Possession mechanics aren’t all that new in games - Nintendo’s own Kirby’s has had the ability to suck up his enemies and steal their powers for years - but what’s interesting is that Mario’s capture mechanic in this game seems to occupy a sort of middle ground between problem solving and emergent gameplay.

I had completely forgotten that I’d preordered Wolfenstein II until I got an email this morning with my Steam key. (I don’t drink, so I don’t even have alcohol as an excuse.)

And Waluigi has a 12-inch dick with the diameter of a pencil.

It’s on the Darknet. Ask Raina Punjabi about it.

Gonna go post about this on redchan.it.

It seems like Toback wandered around parks looking for women to rub up against and occasionally made a movie or two by accident.

That raises the question: where the heck did he get the money in the first place?

Jesus Christ, with all the raping he was doing, how did this pond scum find time to make movies?

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: rape culture!

Au contraire, if you live in Los Angeles, it’s a great weekend for movies: the Animation Is Film festival is this weekend.

Being able to go back to a challenge once you’re powerful enough to tackle it is a something I wish I saw more of in games. I was glad to see that approach taken in Dragon Age: Inquisition, for instance. Level-scaling can really mess with a sense of progression.

Man, I know that feeling. I’ll be going back to Gravity Rush Remastered next year after 10 months of not having played it, and I’m sure all my muscle memory will be gone by then. (Not that I had any in the first place, since I was terrible at the game.)

Hey everyone! It’s time for Merve’s Alternative Weekend Prompt (MAWP). This week, I want to know about your gaming habits. How long does it take you to complete a game? Do you blaze through in a few sessions? Or do you stretch out your playthrough over months? What factors influence your playtime? Let us know!

What a piece of shit.

I think The New Order works *because* it takes itself seriously. Yeah, there are mecha-dogs and cyborg Nazis, but the game never presents its subject matter with a wink and a nod. It understands the gravity of the Nazi regime and calibrates its tone accordingly.

What’s special about Route C is really in the last tower that unlocks once you’ve played through the others. It’s quite backloaded.

I liked Persona 5 - all 131 hours of it! - but without spoiling anything, it doesn’t feel as artistically complete as Persona 4. There’s not much lost if you don’t complete it. (And yes, Makoto is clearly the canon waifu.)

Obligatory meme-based response:
