Well, if nothing else, at least I might get more memes like this out of it:

For sure, and I say this as someone who counts Shimoneta as one of his favourite series ever. It’s a brilliant critique of social conservatism.

Suggestions, based on what I can infer about your tastes:

Shimoneta is more of a parody of ecchi anime than a true example of the genre, but it’s probably not the best place to start.

Wolf Children has the dubious distinction of being the only film that ever brought me close to tears.

Haha, the title is even worse than that. Though Mouretsu Pirates translates to “Miniskirt Pirates,” the series was marketed in the West as Bodacious Space Pirates, which might be the worst title for anything ever.

Each of Takahata’s Ghibli films is admirable in its own right (though I can’t say I’m a huge fan of My Neighbors the Yamadas). He has a real sense for human drama that very few filmmakers can capture, and his films grapple with complex ideas. Grave of the Fireflies highlights what happens when society abandons its

Community’s problem was that it would do stupid things and then point out that it was doing stupid things, which didn’t erase the fact that the stupid things were done and just demonstrated that the writers knew better but consciously chose to do stupid things.

Seconding Shirobako. It’s not just one of my favourite anime series ever; it’s one of the best serialized narratives I’ve ever watched, period. I think it’s best watched after having watched a few animated series, though, so you can really appreciate it.

Faraci has a long history of harassment and bullying (some of it encouraged by fellow “progressives”). I don’t think he should have any sort of public-facing job.

Oh come off it, if she were a more beloved actress on a more critically-acclaimed show, you’d be singing her praises and writing about how she “totally slayed the haters” on Twitter. Let Remini do what she wants.

Don’t get your hopes up; it’s probably a free-to-play trading card game. :(

Bully 2 rumours have been swirling around for a while. I don’t know if the original’s misanthropic tone would play well in today’s climate, but I’d be interested to see what a sequel is like nonetheless.

Hey Gameologerinos! Just a reminder that voting is now ongoing for the next game that the Gameological Steam group is going to discuss in its book club for video games, the Revue Club. Cast your votes here. We’re also still discussing Binary Domain, if you’re interested.

I also got ending G twice by accident. The robot hopping sequence was a lot less cute the third time around.

This weekend, so help me God, I’m going to finish Persona 5. I’m nearly at the 130-hour mark, but I feel like I’m near the end. And if it’s not near the end, then seriously, how long is this game?

I’ve been enjoying this aspect of Mario + Rabbids as well. It moves at a pretty snappy pace, so even when a fight looks hopeless, I’m inclined to keep going, because every once in a while I can land a critical or a Rabbid will stupidly set himself on fire and I can at least have a laugh.

You must really like fish. :P

Have fun with Sleeping Dogs. A man who never eats pork buns is never a whole man!

This is a good batch of games, guys. Y’all better vote!
