Perhaps, but I'm not sure that game can be divorced from the cultural conversation surrounding it at this stage. I was lucky to have played it before the backlash, so my opinions on the game weren't deeply influenced by it. However, if I were to go back to it, I'd either notice what the critics were saying, or I'd be

This has been a pretty great year for gaming so far. I'll mention three games, two of which I think are all-time greats.

It really feels like Makoto is the canon waifu, not Ann, though that might just be the result of the dialogue options I've chosen.

I've had people "correct" me for leaving out the colon. It's madness!

That one wasn't received very well in Japan, but maybe the Western reception will be warmer.

I feel more positively about Infinite than you do, but I have to agree about Prey: it's a wonderfully subtle game whose systems mesh perfectly with each other.

You got yourself a PS4? ^5! (I'm thinking of getting a Switch myself, because Mario XCOM looks rad.)

I've only finished 5 dungeons. That game is long as fuck.

That's essentially my take on the game too. I thought the gameplay was repetitive to the point of frustration, but I thought the writing was superb. I almost wish it had been a visual novel instead.

Persona 5 is a surprising omission, but I seem to recall that the reviewer didn't like it very much.

I'm not Japanese. It's a lot of fun.

The header image is way more disturbing than the word in question.

Well, put differently, the fact that Hogan needed to be bankrolled to fight his case shows just how important money is in the American legal system.

He dropped out of the mayoral election because he had cancer. That would have happened regardless of Gawker's reporting.

Rob Ford died a few years later out of office, so Gawker didn't exactly do a great job on that front…

Not to mention the addition of low-quality political content!

Anybody who said publishing Fappening photos was unethical (as it certainly was) while defending Gawker's decision to publish the Hulk Hogan sex tape is a rank hypocrite.

Exactly. The Hulk Hogan sex tape story isn't really about journalism; it's about how legal cases are practically decided by the amount of money one can throw at them.

What's wrong with 1Up is that it's no longer operational and hasn't been for several years.
