Huh, so this is why Jimmy Wong's Indiegogo project had to change its name.

Same here. My current PS4 library consists of one Western game (Uncharted 4: A Thief's End) and four Japanese games (Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Gravity Rush Remastered, Yakuza 0, and Persona 5).
If you have to go to a dungeon on multiple days, then you're eating up time that could be spent ranking up your confidants or social stats. One early dungeon forces you to complete it over the course of multiple days for plot-related reasons, but none of the subsequent dungeons I've played do.
I always enjoy those livechats too. Once I know the A.V. Club's official livechat schedule, I'll post a schedule for the Steam group's unofficial livechats.
I might check it out. I do have a PS3, but both my controllers are broken at the moment, so I'll have to buy a new one.
If any game doesn't need a prequel, it's Life Is Strange. If LIS is to be a franchise, I'd rather they take the Far Cry route, where they take the same basic mechanics and storytelling techniques and apply them to different settings.
NIS America is dumping basically everything on PC these days. The ports are a rush job, but since I don't own a Vita, they're much appreciated.
Since I'm actually going to have a commute by public transit for the first time in seven years this fall, Pokémon Stars would get me to buy a Switch.
I agree; I definitely want to see more weirdness at the E3 pressers. There are a lot of weird games being made for the major platforms; they just never get shown at the press conferences. Some of them, like NieR:Automata, even get E3 trailers but aren't granted a berth on the stage. It's as if the major platform…
To be clear, my reluctance to get into MGS has nothing to do with the perceived quality of the games and everything to do with the fact that there are so many MGS games that I'd have no hope of playing them all if I also want to stay current with gaming and slowly chip away at my backlog too.
A lot of niche Japanese PS4 titles get localized for the Western market (e.g. Valkyria Revolution, Atelier Firis, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash). Sony just doesn't pour a lot of money into promoting them, probably because they don't think they'll see a return on doing so. That means…
I wonder how far along Death Stranding is in the development cycle. I never got into Metal Gear, and it's probably too late now, so I'm eager to jump into some Kojima weirdness on the ground floor.
Hey Gameologerinos! The Gameological Steam group (which you should all join, by the way) is currently discussing Planescape: Torment in our semi-regular discussion feature, the Revue Club. The discussion thread is at this link.
Why not make a thread for Switch friend codes in the Gameological Steam group? If you do, I'll try to remember to publicize it in KG sections for the next few weeks.
If it's on the A.V. Club Awards site, then it was probably GaryX.
I've been making my way through Prey and Persona 5.
Prey and NieR:Automata will probably end up being my favourite games of 2017 (I haven't finished the former yet), so you can't go wrong with either one. I'd get both if you can. If you have to pick one, then I'd go with Automata, because it's a little more unique. Prey is the apotheosis of its genre, but NieR:Automata…
Sometimes I wish confidants weren't gated behind stat checks. It takes ages to level up social stats high enough to unlock some of them.
If there were a "Clive Is the Best" feature, that would be the quote I would use.
They've got a pretty solid comedy lineup on Thursday, though the selfish part of me wishes The Good Place and Great News were airing back-to-back.
