I remember a time when Pepe hadn't been corrupted by the alt-right. I used to laugh at Pepe memes. Fuck these shitwomblers for ruining Furie's creation.
As someone who attended a Thursday concert last week, I have to agree. Lots of so-called "emo" bands experimented with different styles in the early '00s, and it's bizarre historical revisionism to pretend otherwise. Thursday delved into post-rock. Coheed and Cambria flirted with prog. The Receiving End of Sirens was…
"Post-emo" doesn't have a strict definition, as far as I know, but I've heard it used to describe emo-ish bands that leaned in a more experimental direction, like Circa Surive, HRVRD, Chiodos, and late-era Thursday.
I'd say it started even earlier but didn't really become a trend until the past 5 years. There's a case to be made that Brand New's The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me is the seminal record of the genre, having more in common sonically with the '10s emo revival than '90s emo.
More like "a shith pie," if we're being pedantic.
Why?
Hey Gameologerinos! It's time for EDITION 50 OF THE REVUE CLUB. That's right, we're at the 50th edition of our Steam group's semi-regular video game discussion feature. In honour of the occasion, we're voting on some perennial also-rans. Get your votes in at this link by Wednesday!
My advice: don't go to the cops.
I had no idea that Sense8 was debuting this weekend. I would be super-hyped if I weren't so busy this weekend. In any case, I hope those who have time to watch it enjoy it!
Clones is a mediocre movie. Menace is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
"Would you be happy if they repealed Obamacare and replaced it with a clown who shat in your mouth? This bill is a clown who shits in your mouth."
Some of the later bullet hell sequences are, well, hellishly difficult. And I don't think the difficulty slider affects those, unfortunately.
Potentially on the docket for this weekend:
I didn't find most of Route C/D all that difficult, because I'd done most of the sidequests in the earlier routes. Then of the bosses two-shotted me.
I too walked out on Pascal. On some level, I think he needed to learn a lesson for his naïveté, but on another level, I still feel like a major asshole.
If DX:HR is in the backlog, you should take it out of there. It's really good!
He was pretty good in Marry Me as a mostly relaxed straight man who played off Casey Wilson's wackiness, but that show only lasted a season.
This felt like a necessary episode more than a truly enjoyable one, but I'm glad they've cleared the deck for whatever's going to go down to close out the season. Not a fan of getting Oliver's son involved, though.
I don't know why, but I can't get enough of Ken Marino playing a smarmy dillhole.
