The children are saying their father is an abusive dick and don’t want to spend time with him. These are not tiny easily brainwashed kids. These are teenagers. I think a teenager is old enough to determine if they want to spend time with a man they saw beat on their mother.

Yeah, the references to previous behavior in court, etc. made me think there is more to the story on that end. Yet the judge is still reprehensible. Her job is to protect the children in her court, not terrorize them with stories of jail and call them crazy.

That was a red flag for me too if it’s true, but that’s not the issue here. The judge’s behavior is the issue, and this judge should not be sitting on a bench in any court, let alone a court that decides what happens to minors.

I agree that there is something fishy about the mom’s side of things, but also it’s never ok to punish children for the sins of the parents.

That’s immediately what I thought of as well. And then I immediately wished that she doesn’t have any close friends or family. Because she seems terrible and should be alone at Christmas.
