At my church, we were encouraged to turn them into crosses.

I don’t get why people have such a big problem with subtitles. It especially drives me nuts when I hear about people buying tickets to foreign films and then complaining about having to read subtitles. If you aren’t visually impaired or dyslexic or something, what’s the big deal? Is reading really such a chore? It

He has to get ahold of the weapons and ammo, if he doesn’t already have them. Get mentally prepared, maybe. Did he intend to escape and avoid jail? He would have needed an escape plan.

Sounds stupid, but I liked the reality show star origin that Kraven got in Ultimate Spiderman, ha ha.

With the show ending soon, it looks like they’re trying to hurry up on finishing up plots.

Some people are complaining about the Death Note movie having mostly non-Japanese actors... But I’m fine with it because at least they’re not setting it in Japan and keeping the Japanese names but making everyone white, ha ha.

A big issue is that with some conditions, like autism and ADHD, girls show different symptoms from boys. A lot of the research is done with boys (I’m curious as to how it started out. Are the female symptoms more likely to be socially acceptable, or at least tolerated, behaviors?) so the girl stuff isn’t as well known.

Eh, but anime doesn’t really have the best public image in the US. Lots of people see it as stupid or perverted, and think that bottom of the barrel nerds with no social skills like anime. Other mediums don’t have the same stigma. If you say a movie is based off of an anime, that would actually discourage audiences.

For real, it’s why I hate the “we need a super famous person as the lead!” argument. I can’t think of any celebrities who currently have the kind of star power to bring people in on their name alone. Maybe you can draw in a few fangirls with Tom Hiddelston or Benedict Cumberbatch, but that’s still not enough for a

For real. They’re not recognizable to most people (who may actually be turned off from seeing the movie after hearing it’s adapted from an anime. Anime doesn’t have great image in the US) and they often get changed so much that fans of the original aren’t interested. Plus they’re usually just not very good.

My only guess is that there aren’t really any other kid movies out right now. There’s Beauty and the Beast, but that’s been out for a few weeks, plus it seems to be made for slightly older audiences anyway.

Maybe he’ll do it for treats. Works for my dog.

I love mermaids, my interpretation of them is that they’re badass. (you have to be to live in the ocean!) But harpies would be so cool!

Professional mermaids do things like photoshoots and commercials, and things like pool parties.

Eh, in all fairness, the issue isn’t just getting jobs, it’s getting jobs that pay a decent wage. I would imagine that coal mining pays more than any retail job.

Shit, if I had that kind of money, I’d build my own zoo. And a cetacean sanctuary, with an underwater tunnel that goes in the ocean, and a totally bitchin’ education center, and lots of research would be done there.

Agreed. I actually welcome the idea of DC doing darker films as a way to differentiate themselves from Marvel... But they’re doing a bad job.

That would make a great Disney animated film.

Agreed, I think LGBT is one of those issues where he chooses his position based on what’s popular.

Agreed. I love Disney, but their fairy tale/princess interpretations are so well-known (to the point that, in the US at least, people picture Disney-style stuff when you ask them to imagine fairy tales and princesses) that I’d rather see a different take on them. If Disney made this movie under the Disney name (rather
