A lot of the Bible theme parks I’ve seen don’t seem to have a lot of rides. Maybe they’d be more successful if they did. Tower of Babel would work.

I think it’s cute that he thinks the park is gonna be popular. Bible theme parks generally aren’t all that successful. I think there’s one in Orlando that does fine, but that’s almost certainly because it’s in a popular vacation destination. People already visit Orlando in droves for Disney World, SeaWorld, and…
Fair point.
Fair point.
I went into an H&M today and saw that they had a bin where people can bring in old clothes for textile recycling. I thought that was pretty cool, since one problem with the fast fashion model is that it creates a lot of waste.
Giiiirl, don’t get me started on Michael’s! I love the store, but goddamn is their Christmas shit annoying. Last year I went in a week before Halloween to get some spooky decorations. All of the Halloween stuff was on clearance so they could make room for Christmas shit! And this year, I went in early October for…
Anyone else think it’s kind of pathetic that “store closes on Thanksgiving” is enough to make news?
Yeah, whenever I go shopping with my friends, they never suggest department stores. Hell, even I really only go to them for shoes.
Seriously. Now everyone else knows what it’s like!
South Texas, same problem. Sure, I’ll make use of coats and sweaters, but since I’ll only need them for a short time I won’t buy many. Always jarring to see only that stuff available when it’s 80 degrees. You’d think that retailers would tailor inventory by location and not just season.
Just like how its always been in south Texas. I don’t own a lot of winter clothes because it’s only cold for a short period of time, there’s no point.
Agreed. I found it confusing as well. I’m guessing they’re trying to find their Transformers for a female audience, but Transformers has had multiple TV series since the original show. Jem didn’t get any kind of reboot, so anyone who didn’t grow up in the 80s likely wouldn’t be interested in it. Really, I’m kind of…
Yeah, I’ve gotten kind of bored with so much focus on unconventional materials. After a while, it ironically feels limiting.
This is what I’ve been thinking about lately when it comes to contest reality shows. After a while, they stop producing “superstars”.
It’s not even just a work thing, there are also hobbies and free time.
Oh, totally. I feel like I either never have the time or never have the money. If I’m working, I might have the money but I don’t have the time. Granted, a big issue for me is that I take the bus, which is a lot more time-consuming than people realize.
That’s something I mentioned yesterday in a discussion about parents who don’t have lives outside of their kids. Most parents want to be role models to their kids, but most kids aren’t gonna look up to their parents if they never really see them doing anything outside of chores.
I was thinking the same thing. My dad knows 5 languages, (it’s pretty impressive for an American) I doubt a young child can fluently know that many languages without being some kind of prodigy.
And most zoo memberships pay for themselves in 2-3 trips. For my birthday I asked my older sister for a membership to Moody Gardens (it’s like an expensive zoo) so I’ll have something to do other than sitting around the house whenever I visit. Gift that keeps on giving.
And if you’re looking for craft stuff, the selection at Hobby Lobby isn’t even that good.
