Moonlight actually beat La La Land so I’m hoping for the same thing

Actually, my article is about her blocking the black women trying to educate her on Twitter. But I know combining reading comprehension with your desire to finger wag and “correct" black people is hard.

Actually, many women of color named Ricki Lake in their response, telling her that she wasn’t even the first white woman to do it. So please, fall back.

It would have been so easy to say “Whoops, my bad; guess we miss some releases in Australia, glad to be in the company of these comedy legends.” and go about her life.

Oooh, where did the sun go? It’s suddenly so shady in here...

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking.

This was so unnecessary. She could have just easily said, “OMG how could I forget?! I’m in good company ;)” and kept it moving. Instead she went all #WhiteFilmsMatter and it’s becoming a thing now.

Swear my ass shoulda gone into PR

You would think after 40 years on this earth she would be old enough to know better.

Australians gonna Australian.

Is this the appropriate forum to discuss my lifelong obsession with Queen Latifah?

Sounds like she wasn’t having a Super Fun Night. She needs a better PR team because her tweets were less than Pitch Perfect. I have no more puns because those are the only things I know she was in.

also all the “why cant i make a WHITECON?  HUH?”   It reminds me of when somone said “Why is there a Black Entertainment Television channel but no WHITE entertainment channel?”  To which the response was “You mean the entire rest of television?”

It says something about people who are calling this racism and racist with such conviction when said people don’t seem to actually know even the base definition of racism and racist.

Not to mention we don’t know if they actually keep white people from attending.

I mean, we don’t call women who are into this culture “Fem-Nerds” or “Ferds” or whatever. We don’t call homosexual nerds “Gerds” or “Lesberds”.

Sounds awesome, I just love the idea of having a place to go where you aren’t considered the ‘black’ version of a character. It’s also nice to know I very likely won’t see someone in blackface.

Yeah, it did say inclusive. Not exclusive.

How do I attend your Concern Trolling 101 classes?

In a word, it’s all about one thing: equality. The point of equality is that everyone should be able to have the same experience when going to a convention; to feel safe, secure, and respected, around peers. As someone who is white and fully-abled, I can generally take that for granted.
