Several points to discuss here, please bear with me.

That must be one of the best insults I've ever received. :)

I'm going to take the apparently minority position that Bill Paxton is consistently the worst part of any movie that he appears in. At least his role in this was fairly small.

No, but an airfoil on a "female" robot would look pretty silly as well.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Why does my car, which I never drive over 80 mph, need a small airfoil on the trunk?

In an almost incomprehensible programming move, Syfy green lighted a prequel series that removed most of the popular elements (robots in space with guns). Not surprisingly, they then lost not only the viewers who never watched BSG in the first place, but also many of the viewers who did watch it.

Technically, Mr. Peanut is a legume, not a person. So, he gets a pass.

Since he believes people have swimming pools the size of a football field and 21 feet deep I'm not so sure he has a firm grasp on what "vast amounts" really means.

Since it's no big deal how about we just put it all in the pool in your backyard and you can go swimmin' with three legged women?

Are they really expecting people to pay money to see this? While sober?

Thank you. I was just looking for a snow monkey pic but I couldn't pass up the facepalm when I saw it.

Monkey facepalm.

An electronic mail system in Victorian London?

"urine junkie" and "suicidal" strike me as a bit redundant.

With George RR Martin's renewed fame thanks to HBO can we now get a movie of Fevre Dream? I've been casting and re-casting this in my head for almost 30 years.

Doomsday Book is one of my all time favorites. It would make an awesome movie. Good call!

The CGI budget for Startide Rising/Uplift War would be astronomical.

If you threw out the requirement that the scientists be "legendary" you could include pretty much anything written by Simon Winchester. Anybody who can make a ripping yarn out of plate tectonics has got it going on.

I think what would count against Diamond is the "legendary" part of the article's title. Definitely a great book, though.
