@SupaChupacabra: Maybe I missed something when I read The Man in the High Castle but I didn't find it particularly challenging (or enjoyable - oh the heresy!) I agree that Gibson's writing is dense but the story in Neuromancer is pretty straightforward.

I was going to say that Dune has to be on the list but considering that this is a list for beginners it may be a little dense for newcomers.

@See you suckers later: Got to agree with you on the Bradbury. Martian Chronicles or Fahrenheit 451 has to e a given.

No mention of Haven on Fridays after Eureka? The first couple episodes were meh, but it has really won me and junior-falcons over since then.

@a.seivewright: Well, there's drinking age and there's legal drinking age...

@Kogo: "Another Ghostbusters. Another Fantatic Four. Another Mad Max.

@Doncosmic: Donna is mrs-falcons favorite companion. It's a close call for me between her and Amy. The thing I miss most about Donna is Grandpa Wilf.

So, The Day the Earth Stood Still on Friday on AMC. Is that really the classic one or the new one? I remember when American Movie Classics lived up to its name in its mission. Now I don't trust that they aren't in fact showing Keanu Reeves movies.

qwertyuiop - Queen Winifred Elizabeth really tastes yummy up in our pants

@sumerfish: "Entomology" is bugs. "Entymology" is radical feminist bugs.

@misschicago: The only part of the movie I enjoyed.

No love for This Is Not a Game by Walter Jon Williams? I tore through that sucker in a couple days. Gamers helping a stranded woman escape a country in chaos when a black-ops private security company can't? Ultimate geek fantasy.

I would only swear to Stargate and Buffy in a court of law. I must be going geek-blind.

Names to go with 3, 6, and 7 would have been nice.

Margaret Atwood meet Damon Knight. Damon, Margaret.

@Belabras: "So need this in Houston. Static."
