Amen! I married a man with a shitastic family that he would not stand up to. They very openly hated me and made my 7 year marriage hell. I realized he was never going to stand up for me and noticed he was slowly becoming like them, so we got divorced. My life has been so much better ever since.

If he is having a secret email relationship, for 5 years, with a woman he previously had romantic feelings for, kinda feels like cheating to me. If he had to keep it secret, he knew it was wrong.
