At least you didn't sing "wang man—ahhhhh" to the tune of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's "Day Man"...

Good for you, I know it can be hard to address with relatives. I'm glad she's found some empathy now (at least that's what I read into it), but yeah, don't let her make a fantasy of her own past.
The piece said 4,000, not 40,000 (although I think they will uncover more victims' names the more they research).
Nothing to see there
I don't see these two pursuits as diametrically opposed. Teach stories and story-building, teach expression, and teach science and math. I think this idea stinks more of the "science is of ultimate importance and STEM careers are what we should be trained for", which has been coming at the detriment of the humanities…
I cannot think of any colloquial usage where it is not tied to misogyny and stereotyping. It's in statements like "females are ____" or "Females, amirite?"
Yeah, I suppose they'd want to, but all kinds of weird stuff comes from legislation. Guess we'll see if this is just a talking point issue or if anything comes of it.
My SO's mother got polio as a child, a year or two before the vaccine was available. Her life has been ordered to deal with the atrophied leg and all the problems it presents; as she ages, the wear and tear on the "good" side of her body is evident, and she is entering into one or several surgeries to replace her knee…
Yes, the "movement" certainly contains mostly left-leaning sorts. My comment was about the rise (seriously, many just this week) of right-wing persons who are actually in power glomming on to this vaccination issue with their talking points. I'm concerned that the actions of the former are causing this rise in measles…
Yeah, I've seen a few right-wingers out there speaking out (Rand Paul comes to mind, but others of lesser media presence as well). I fear that they will take it one step further and say "it's a choice, and should you choose to vaccinate, your health insurance has no obligation to cover it."
I'd love a map that includes moderate-to-severe disability as a result of measles, too. I know it's harder to track, but I think sometimes the laundry list of possible outcomes from failing to vaccinate would become more "real" to hesistant parents if they could see how many negative consequences come from surviving…
I just screamed, "Thank you [looks at username] John Boehner" in my head and now I feel very at odds because of the unusual nature of that statement.
I'm filled with such glee at seeing them just flop around. This is causing me to have limited empathy for the humans involved.
Tis only a 2nd amendment flesh wound.
