Um, ok. I don’t know how to respond to a doubled-down internet threat, but cool.

Do you not find it ironic that your first response is totally dismissive of empathy for people in other countries, but your overall thrust is pleading for others to empathize with you?

I do care about the experiences of all people in this

I absolutely loved playing Assassin’s Creed II and Brotherhood in Italian, with English subtitles.

I care. Many of those countries see racism rear its head in far uglier ways. I have ties to them.

Lack of typos does not equate to passion.

Your brave internet threat is well-received.  Your lack of knowledge of my living situation is notable.

We don’t seem to see eye-to-eye most of the time, but I completely agree with your characterization of Trump. He has certainly been a wake-up call to the nation, and highlights many of the sordid issues still persistent in our country.

If I may point out, though, that we don’t “rank” number one on the most racist

We can definitely say that human males tend to be more aggressive than females.

If you were to take a random man and a random woman, there’s a 60% chance the male will be more aggressive. (Not a huge difference, but significant.) More significant are the outliers at the extremes - if you were to pick the 100 most

I was pointing out that racism begets racism. Just that. I suppose it was mostly a point about PapaKyle’s use of “despite.”

I’ll also say that no - I think my point would hold true in most types of discrimination, especially against any group affiliation that one considers a part of their personal identity. So I’d also

Yeah, that demographic of people is racist!

Also, (irony aside) I’d posit that a given group is more likely - not less - to exhibit racism if they experience racism. That’s why you have feuds that last hundreds or even thousands of years still raging, as each side feeds on the other.

So, I feel that this makes more sense than Steam moderating things.  If a developer wants to develop a community, they can devote resources to it.  Steam has no reason to invest in this - Creative Assembly does.

You shouldn’t be scared. If we’re fighting racism, we should not stoop to racism.

I’ll apologize in advance for the commentariat that’s going to pile on and make your reasonable question seem unreasonable.

How is the notion of giving up on white people not racist?

Is it ok to give up on black people? (I’ll answer that hypothetical - no. But it does seem to be ok to give up on white people.)

This is judging people by the color of their skin. One can’t fight racism with racism. But perhaps we can not judge groups of people,

You’re talking in general enough terms that you could apply to both.

But these situations are not analogous.   For one, a person doesn’t choose to be black.  A person does choose to transition.

Rosemonde clearly noted gender expression. Why does everyone have to jump to “what about historically oppressed racial group X?”

Hysterical righteousness isn’t necessary.

No, just not in lockstep with the groupthink? Heaven forbid someone say something fairly innocuous.

Where was all the outcry about Orlando decades ago?

In fact, them not doing so while creating their own tool for this is... business?  I’d say smart business, but it’s Business 101.  If they’re developing their own tool, OF COURSE they are going to close that loophole to a 3rd party.

Serious question: do they have responsibility there?

Valve publishes games - and they can do so however they want. I honestly don’t understand the mentality that wishes for a nanny state to control everything.

Curating takes effort - man-hours that cost money. Curating is subjective, and subject to human judgement and

Minor note: it’s very possible to be a gamer while having little to no knowledge of that crowd.

Price was effectively wearing company colors, and her response to Deroir was completely unwarranted. That said, there’s absolutely no reason she should have been fired. I’d handle that with a personal meeting, and a “think

Hey, sure.

Well, I feel that Western Civilization has developed the concept of the individual into something pretty exceptional, if it might’ve gone a bit off the rails in the last couple decades. I think Marxist theory disregards that in a huge way, and looks at the world and societies through a simplistic (and not

Ah, it’s raining irony. Thanks for that.

I hate Nazis as much as you do. I’m guessing our main difference is that I also hate Marxists.

I’ll just consider myself special for getting a second response, I guess. I sincerely thank you for continuing to engage.

Look, I hate both sides of the political coin. I came to where I am from the left, so I tend to still think of them as “better” in a lot of ways, but I’ve become pretty disheartened at the

Your first/last point is fair, if the greater kinja network is international. I came here via games years back, and that commentariat is a little less U.S.-focused.

People everywhere get the short end of the stick. That’s human nature - humans are shitty to each other, especially across genetic groups. We’re disposed
