Does it really matter? He was braking. Yes, he was turning, but that is not the only reason someone would be braking - there could have been a child/animal etc in the road in front that the other driver couldn’t see. He was hit by a vehicle at double the limit, a vehicle that also failed accident avoidance 101 -

What you said is kinda blaming the victim here... even if the driver wasn’t signalling a turn the car slowing down with its brake lights on was more than enough to alert anybody behind to slow down so it’s 100% the truck driver’s fault.

I was all ready to ND this and then realized - you’re not buying a car here, not really. You’re buying a show piece to take to meets, Cars & Coffee, town 4th of July parades, and maybe your kid’s pep rally or whatever. You’re not going to drive this to work nor through the McDonald’s drive-thru.

I’m waiting a few years for my “mid life crisis” car and I’m really eyeing the 86. This new generation really gives me hope that it will still be around in another decade and wont suck. I want to buy it new, optioned to me. Since I’ve never been able to do that ever

I mean the corvette had similar HP but also probably had 2x the torque of the GR86

ok boomer

I actually think you’re in the silent majority. Unfortunately, we’re also not the customer base.

I’m in the minority maybe, but I like the styling of it.

It’s a damn fine-looking car; has this Phil douche even seen a modern Lamborghini? Those fucking things are absolutely covered in wings and vents! This looks like Lambo stuck to the fundamentals. It’s a nice, clean design.

The people complaining about this are the same people that financed Chrysler 200's at 15% APR.

And all of this could’ve been avoided if they just went with the South Korean logo, of which I’ve seen a few badge swaps

Counterpoint: Lamborghini’s design language has become so complex that every car now looks more like a Stealth Fighter than a Lambo. Maybe something a little more understated, if you can call this car understated at all, is a bolder choice at this point.

Counterpoint:

Only 1 wing?

Yep. Needs huge-ass optional wing

Needs a wing.

I’m on board with all of the ~20 current commenters to this thread. This is one of the few Porsche cars that really makes me tingle. Funny that the writer of this story would write in the tone he has... This is like basically the only acceptable $2 million Jalop ride. The engineering, development etc of this car is

I could build a real fuckin’ cool 911 and still have about 1.9 million dollars left over!

You can be a tasteless rapper who spends $2M on a Bugatti, or you can be someone who understands engineering and the art of fine craftsmanship... and get a Singer.
