I’m betting a lot of people think they will have difficulty getting warranty service from a dealer they didn’t buy from, and that stops them from casting a wider net.

Rational is not buying until supply becomes reasonable. Keep fixing the old car because guess what, it will cost less in the long term over scoring a newer ride well over retail.

The problem isn’t even contestant. It is using “constant” in its place. All of your options would have reduced the probable autocorrect issue, though.

“Contestant” is the correct word. The word being used in the article is “constant” as in “The contestant is constantly contacting MTV about getting their money back.”

I agree that “contestant” is the wrong word here. But what is the right word?

This stuff is getting worse. I mean Jalopnik has always played fast and loose with the concept of editing, but it’s getting eye-opening at this point.

But even that didn’t help as a lot of constants weren’t old enough to rent a car, or the money that was given wasn’t enough. One constant ended up pocketing what was left and figured the rest out.

Actually I find $50k to be quite pricey for the build it yourself kit and still having to source your own donor engine, transmission, and wiring harness.

I just did a quick look for comparison. The top of the line Polaris Slingshot R LE (which isn’t really a competitor but I was curious) is 1645 lbs, 203 hp, and starts at about $33K. And only revs to 8500 rpm. Again, not a true competitor, but imagine a Slingshot with the same power but about 40 percent lighter.

Why bother with getting more details when you can just make some dumb assumptions about someone who died!

People shouldn’t be checking their cell phones while driving on regular roads, let alone while driving on a racetrack.

The report on R&T has a bit more detail. It was a Miata that crashed, and the driver was a regular at the ‘ring.

A Mazda CX-5 collided with the recovery vehicle and immediately burst into flames.

Have to love the bang up investigative journalism from Jalopnik.

“Consumer cars, like the Model 3, use a three-point belt that’s specifically designed to let the body shift and twist in a controlled manner during a crash.”

They haven’t made an Evo in a full Decade. The only models in the US are the Outlander, the Eclipse Cross abomination, and Mirage. All could put a meth addict to sleep.

The truth is, the vast majority of cars are never going to be collectable (looking at you 4cyl, 4 door sedans), so I am going to give an example of one that probably should be, but won’t be, the Hyundai Veloster N. By most accounts it is a good car, but I think fact that is a Hyundai will keep it from ever getting

We became “not so nice” after your last POTUS kept shitting on us.

There isn’t a new car made by BMW that I would want to own.

There isn’t a new car made by BMW that I would want to own. Even the M3/M4 have lost my interest. I’ve already complained many times about BMWs current “bold” exterior design choices, but now I’d like to focus my attention to the inside.
