A finance guy at GM told me that the issue GM had this year was that they didnt set up the supply chain for enough Crew Cabs (aka, the ones with 4 full doors). This is the main reason you see that 3 Billion $ gap...they literally cant charge more because they have the wrong allocation of cab…

Per a reliable source at GM's PT lab in Pontiac, MI, expect 32 MPG Highway in the real world with around 22 city, again real world. This is in the 2x4 version, not driving like Hoonigan.

Gas cant go back up to $4.00 a gallon with the increasing availability/cost effectiveness of alternative fuel vehicles. When you "do the math", plug in hybrids (Volt/Prius/Fusion, etc) are economically feasible from an initial cost recovery perspective within 5 years once gas goes above around $3.50/gallon.
