Almost a new level of low.
Almost a new level of low.
I’ve posted this before, but I have a colleague who moved to Canada a few months ago because he couldn’t bring his wife and kid over from Iran. This guy has 2 PhDs, and won some kind of national Iranian science competition. And we basically kicked him out. Fucking ridiculous.
Afghanistan’s all-girls robotics team has won the Entrepreneur Award at the Robotex festival in Estonia, Europe’s…
Scientifically speaking, the brain is done developing around age 25. Realistically speaking, I’m 38 with a spouse, a small child, a mortgage, and a master’s degree and I still feel like I have no idea what the hell I’m doing and I suck at decisions. Of course, my entire career involves working with 300 teenagers every…
It’s not a switch, it’s a gradual process, but most people’s brains are mostly mature by their mid to late twenties. It varies from person to person. I started finding it easier to keep track of my life in general in my late twenties.
I’m not sure that “bitcoin is fake” is the right reaction here.
You haven’t really slammed Bitcoin until you explain that ‘Mt. Gox’ literally, LITERALLY, stands for Magic The Gathering Online eXchange.
There’s currency exchanges. Mt. Gox was one, which you may remember made it into the news when the owner filed for bankruptcy and likely stole some 125 million dollars worth of BTC. I could have bought something cool like a house with the currency right now, but I have no bitcoins, and I do suspect that there’s only…
Name checks out.
I was super-duper worried that he’d get asked a tough question, and then he’d be like, really uncomfortable and stuff.
It’s so cool how the New York Times bends over backwards to give a platform and voice to people who want me dead because of the color of my skin.
I think the snark in this article is more on Forbes for calling him the “feminist” choice than on Seth Meyers, who is just fine and certainly better than Ricky Gervais or Jimmy Fallon. I agree, Seth will probably be good at this. Also, Get Out is almost certainly going to win its category this year so it will probably…
Two words: Wanda Sykes
We liked Andy.
And additionally has no compassion for the idea that hey, maybe that kid’s life has been a lot more high-pressure than mine, it’s possible that she needs some leeway to make her own choices now that she gets to step out of that role!
I’m just a few years younger than Chelsea Clinton and I remember really clearly how she was publicly made fun of because even though it had nothing to do with me it terrified me that maybe adults were noticing my skin/hair/fashion choices/just trying to figure out my identity. I don’t understand at all how anyone…
I mean, I’m curious in what she’s doing because of the few times we got to see her out and about, she seems pretty awesome and I want to see what comes out of that awesome.
Anyone who is mad at her for being a kid is either suffering from amnesia about their time as a child or has been so fucking uptight their entire lives that they’re probably going to murder a lot of people shortly.
It’s not so much that they care what she does, it’s that it’s fodder to claim that her parents raised her badly. But as noted above, it’s not like she’s 32 and molesting 14 year olds, so if I was the conservative press I’d tread lightly.
Running for president, while a gift to the country if you are a good and ethical and visionary person, comes at a cost to your family. A cost bigger than a puppy can fill. I am glad we had Obama as a leader. I want his daughters to have the happy, healthy, private lives that they deserve. I am sure he’s aware of what…
