Undergrads worked for profs at my school (and they were considered work study jobs, so they got the standard on-campus student job rate), but we didn’t have any grad students. You could also T.A. for course credit.

The good thing is that most of these initiatives seem to be starting with/run by the locals. Of the two transplants Koeppel, at least, seems to be letting them take the lead. If the locals are the ones behind the changes, hopefully that means they can revitalize without getting priced out.

I bought a relatively-nice looking warm coat last year, and hot damn if that faux fur-trimmed hood doesn’t make the difference. It’s like enveloping the back 3/4ths of your head in a warm bath.

Fwiw the fleece-and-raincoat combo served me perfectly well in Germany in December, especially when paired with layers and a scarf/hat/gloves.

Only the house has the chicken legs, but they’re such a great detail that I think a lot of costumes put them on her just to make it doable. One could make the argument that it’s part of the Aesthetic.
