I appreciate how guarded they are with the birth of their kids. I think that, celeb or not, you should have the final say in how much info you want to share with folks. It’s a time of bonding and with two babies at once, I’m sure that’s a different experience. Not everything needs to be shared immediately to placate…
I went through resistance training (POW interrogation stuff) when I was in the military and one of the things they taught us was if we were ever forced to issue a public confession under threat of torture to make up the wackiest ass story we could possibly get away with as a signal that we were under duress. This…
He was a college kid studying (I believe) international relations and studying abroad in China. I’d imagine he and the other students on the trip thought it would be interesting to see this part of the world that’s sealed off from everything else. And being very young and in the care of supposedly expert guides they…
Or the Muslimah who was killed, here, last night.
I posed this question and was accused of victim blaming. I don’t think the penalty for making bad travel choices should be death, so... not victim blaming. At the same time I honestly cannot understand why in the hell someone would want to go to North Korea. It seems like the opposite of fun.
If he’s been comatose for a year, that’s plenty of time for the body to heal outwardly, hiding bruises and mending bones. Brains don’t just heal up like that, though.
I feel so bad for this kid and his parents. I really do. Having said that, why would anybody want to go to North Korea? Serious question.
I’ve always attributed it to my anxiety disorder. I spend an exorbitant amount of time thinking (obsessing) about interactions, decisions, actions, thoughts, mistakes, smells (did I smell?), facial and body positioning, FUCKING EVERYTHING. So this “7 seconds” thing is a pipe dream for me... it’s like telling someone…
This is very good advice, but I wonder...why are some of us this way? Is it something we’re born with? The result of some traumatic incident in childhood? I’d really like to know.
inb4 people complaining about “Latinx.” Spanish is a gendered language but not everyone expresses themselves as either a man or a woman. Seriously, how does it personally effect you. Being PC isn’t about feelings, it’s about quantifiable damage to a marginalized people which includes refusing to acknowledge their…
My MIL likes to talk about when she was newly married in the 60s. She and all her girlfriends would wake up a half hour before their husbands were due to wake up and put on their “faces” and do their hair and then get back in bed. That way their husband would never have to see their disgusting makeup-less faces.
That thing is going to be so disgusting after it rains.
Besides the horror that is bed bugs, people getting in this thing wearing shoes that have touched NYC streets is making me want to vomit.
There are movies that improve with audience interaction (Fifty Shades, Magic Mike) and movies that do not. The talent is knowing which is which.
Helpful hint! Write them on the back of a cockroach.
They offered the leftover cake to reporters. Ghoulish.
There just isn’t a moral or logistical argument one can make in favor of it. It’s not a deterrent, it costs astronomically more tax dollars than just jailing prisoners for life, there is no way to guarantee that only the guilty suffer capital punishment... the only argument in favor is straight up bloodlust.
I once read through a state’s entire history of last meals. The saddest part wasn’t even the meals - it was how often the didn’t even get what they wanted. And they weren’t insane requests either. The death row inmate would ask for something like a coke and a sprite and a milkshake and he’d only get a coke. This is…
