Exactly. When I was single, I tried the “soft ignore”, where you pretend like the bar is too loud for you realize that some guy is up in your face; I tried “Sorry, I’m just out with the girls tonight! No boys allowed! Haha!”; I tried “I’m not interested!” a few times which was a disaster so I retired it. Nothing

I met a guy at a party recently. He kept striking up a conversation with me even though it was clear (to me) that I wasn’t interested. At first, he said “wow - you’re a tough nut to crack!”, then “you seem so reserved - it must be difficult to get to know you, but I want to try! Say, Tuesday night?” (I said no). A

A cynic would say that Blac Chyna realized that her fame (and ability to profit from same) is tied to her ability to remain relevant to the Kardashians/Jenners in some capacity or other.

I am not ashamed that I easily followed every word in that Kardashian story.

Does that People piece gives the ages of everyone involved (even King Cairo, 3) to hammer home the point that these are a bunch of grown-ass people (Kylie Jenner, 18, and King Cairo, 3, excepted) acting like petty high schoolers?

This is like, European monarchs level of family dating fuckery.

Even if you were reading it correctly and she was tired of reading about boys and dogs separately, you read an entire article about a black girl trying to help other black girls by sending them books with protagonists that reflect them and that’s all you got out of it? What about the dogs?

IDK about this particular little girl, but having been a Black girl - I always thought White folks were overly obsessed with their pets. Dog as man’s best friend is not accepted across all cultures. Animals are nice and all, but hardly interesting as fictional characters. Additionally, it must be irritating as fuck to

I feel like most popular children’s books with black girl protagonists are historical books (about slavery or the civil rights movement), and while those topics are undoubtedly very important, it’s like... Being black isn’t the only thing that black girls have to offer. And don’t even get me started on the white

The point is that dogs are seen as more deserving protagonists for children’s books than black girls. There’s nothing wrong with reading about dogs (I loooooooove dogs). But there’s a problem when so many authors are seeing them as more relatable than black human girls.

I love to see a child passionate about books!

OH MY GOD HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT. Googling immediately.

Um...no. Crew here and not everyone can act. Acting in the sense of ‘pretending to be another being and doing it competently’ is HARD and requires a level of vulnerability that most people are incapable of, not to mention to levels of observation and mimicry required to even begin to pull that off.

Uh, no. Not everyone can act. Don’t insult those of us who are trained and trying to make it in this business.

New reports have said that drone operators face enormous levels of stress, guilt, and trauma as a result of their jobs. People who witness their friends — and even their supposed enemies — killed or hurt in the line of battle can be and are still affected.

She sounds like she’s making a pretty solid argument for veterans to be denied access to guns.

There is this weird American attitude that I have yet to encounter somewhere else that if you are from a traditionally cold place, the cold shouldn’t bother you, and like Marshall and Robin in HIMYM, you should be able to wear shorts and eat ice cream in the middle of a blizzard. I remember pulling on my big down coat

For some reason*, when I read the headline I was thinking some British teens made instagram accounts for the characters and I was like “omg I want to follow Blair on IG!” Really disappointed to find out this is not the case.
