She’s got a point and she’s also pretty awesome. But I’m a sucker for her going back to The 40 year old Virgin and Wet Hot American Sucker so I’m hardly unbiased.

How could they? There have never been negative Disney references in the Simpsons.

For critical posterity I’m designating this as the Watch_Dogs 2 episode.

These sorts of themes always devastate me. “All that matters in this life are the people we love”. What about us poor souls who have no one? Whose families mistreat and shun them. Whose peers in school always exclude them. Who were left without the means to connect to people? That despite all the therapy, the meetups,

Fixed!

This is the show we need right now. I’m so sick of shows, of entertainment that trades on themes of woes and destruction. I’m sick of killing and drug use and graphic sex. I’m sick of apocalyptic notions and existential dread. I’m sick of muted color palettes and gray skies and deep shadows. I’m sick of heroes and

The quick intercutting to the guard wincing made it perfect.

A related story I heard was that Pam Grier went to meet Tarantino in his office (presumably Jackie Brown) and it was full of posters of her films. She said something like "Did you put those up because I was coming?" and he said something like "I was going to take them down because you were coming."

Shout outs to Cassidy Freeman as Amber. She’s been great all season, and she really sold rocking that sniper rifle at the end there.

I’ll always be partial to this.

More Cassidy Freeman, that is what every TV show needs.

Terrible toupee aside, I can’t believe how young John Goodman looked when he played 1980s Eli. Make up or special effects?

Now playing

Walton Goggins is gonna fuck around and win hisself an Emmy if he keeps this up. The boy good!

Gonna set the room on fire with this flaming hot take: I’m looking forward to seeing this movie because it looks good and interesting and I like good and interesting movies. The actors seem like they put in good performances, and I like all those actors based upon their previous work. I bet it looks good, and probably

First I go home and make love to YOUR wife

We have always been at war with Debra Messing.

I think she’s one of the more underappreciated actors out there right now. She always elevates what she’s in and since she’s taken more care about her roles, she’s done a really good job of curating an interesting list of credits over the last 10-15 years.

Hmmm. This article misses a lot of what makes The Boys worth watching. The writer claims the show has nothing to say yet the entire show is a massive takedown of celebrity culture and celebrity worship. These ‘heroes’ are mouthpieces and puppets for branded images, they have no agency, are stopped from doing anything
