I’ll beg to differ as far as Wonder Woman is concerned. Agreed there doesn’t seem to be a “montage” part (though I seem to remember a short growing-up montage or transition). Otherwise, the first act is “origin” (plus some exposition) and the third act is “generic fight scene with a less than disposable villain” (D.

I haven’t seen Spiderman, but I’ve seen the other three movies. Logan indeed deviates from the norm, but why do you feel the same for the other two? As a moviegoer I enjoyed them, but all in all they felt quite formulaic. And audiences rewarded them for that.

At the same time, you don’t want your suspension steel bridge examined by a lover of 16th century stone bridges.

Good point. But I don’t think Amazon’s stupid. They’re too big and just don’t give a f***. And they’re probably right. People won’t stop coming to Amazon just because it lacks a feminist alibi.

Well, how else would all us dimwitted little people visually understand that this is a really dead dragon right away? Why, only when I saw the holes in his wings did things finally fell into place!

“Its existence is a monument to the Confederacy”? Putting aside all the nasty (and glossed over) slavery-related stuff in the movie, I never felt that it was a love letter to the “glory days”... It only ever felt like a portrait of a very strong (and not very principled, or likeable) woman, trying to survive and
