I *may* have started crying when they discussed that in the film. And, just maybe, I’m tearing up thinking about it now.

Aww. I have a soft spot for Elmo...

You’re nicer than I: I told my kids Dinosaur Train wasn’t on anymore because Don ALONE drove me up the fucking wall.

Have you seen “Being Elmo”? It actually gives an interesting perspective on the character.

Perfect comment is perfect.

“The Potter books are for children, The Hunger games for adults.”

Yep. My 2nd child was delivered by a CNM: she was amazing. But the unfortunate discounting of midwifery (which can be great) has obscured what it can be and opened up anyone to call themselves a “midwife.”

Birth TRAUMA is absolutely real and can happen during any kind of birth. BirthRAPE is so intentionally inflammatory that I can’t help but think of it as propaganda.

Please tell me you know I’m not serious about hymen inspections...

As someone who is (essentially) a mommy blogger for a living: yes. Or, rather, those “somebodies” are a vocal and awful minority. Most of us don’t actually give a shit about most of it. But sanctimommys are awful and everywhere.

The blended root beer floats from Sonic have changed my life.

Sonic milkshakes are ballin’.

Honestly, any Dr. Who reference was entirely coincidental. I was going for another Jurassic Park line

You know I haven’t read that one, but thank you for reminding me that it’s been on my list for a while.

Based on my memory of the exhibit/book (though, admittedly, it has been a while), that didn’t seem to trouble them in most cases...

It was actually incredible. I had two roles there over the course of five years, not including the internship that brought me there in the first place, in the communications and education departments. I wasn’t depressed a lot, but there were definitely times when you have to have a good cry. Hearing survivor

Yup on all accounts. Plus, I’d argue, rounding up Jews and killing them in fields wasn’t anything new in Eastern Europe. (I mean, pogroms are what brought a lot of Jews to the US.) Not that those things never happened in Western Europe, but it had been a while since one saw them on a large scale. So I’d imagine a lot
