I am so impressed by Wally Lamb’s ability to write from a woman’s perspective in a very heartfelt, real way.

Enjoy!
I don’t think so, but then I didn’t think she was particularly dickish on the Daily Show either, so maybe my dickometer is off?
Perhaps in characterperhaps in character is the wrong turn a phrase, but certainly she's an exaggerated version of herself.
YouTube! I’m told a lot of stuff is up there!
Think the biting insight of The Daily Show with the satirical brilliance of The Colbert Report with a more feminist bent. Bee is very much in character, but her character is in keeping with what are obviously her own social and political values. It’s great.
Related, if you’re all not watching Full Frontal with Samantha Bee your lives are bleak and meaningless. For real, she is so smart and fierce and funny as fuck.
That's basically how we roll now, but I feel like we are in a rut
Heh. Yeah: my first comment was November 2007. I am distressingly old
Happy reading!
Have you ever read She’s Come Undone? It’s another “Beach Reading for Smart people” that comes to mind, though it’s old. I also recently read a romance (toooooooooooootally not my usual thing) called Seeking Carolina which also fits the bill! Love story/sister story/ghost story and I enjoyed that, too. If you dig…
We’re getting to that point with our son, whom we fear has taught his 21 month old sister some bad habits. Fortunately all the foods they like are healthy, but still: a kid cannot live on apples and Greek yogurt alone.
Also, can I humbly request something I never have, but... I kinda want to?
Disappointed that the current political climate makes my wish of replacing Scalia with an RBG impossible. It disappoints my idealism, not my sense of strategy or hopes for the future.
Enjoy!
No, it’s not a bad strategy at all. You know a compromise is successful when everyone is disappointed, right?
I didn’t expect him to, alas. Though I had hoped for perhaps... a twinge less cookie cutter...
Fortunately they’re okay with that, but we’re working with a pretty limited menu. We’re visiting my sister-in-law this week and she asked what foods she should make for dinner and I’m like “Oh god, don’t even bother trying to accommodate them.”
“My whole diet’s the shit you won’t eat.”
YES! Here’s a Chopped challenge: find something delicious to make out of the snacks my children take one bite of and then discard before asking for something else.
Also: love Stephen Fry.
