Strahan reveals he felt like he got “nothing more than a surface response” from Harrison
I remember the first reunion special which I think aired after season 5 or 6, David (from S2) and Puck (from S3) both tried their best to ruin it. Seeing Rachel and Puck in the same room in 2021 would be absurd, though.
SURELY it’s not that hard to find another mediocre white dude who didn’t defend racist instagram shit. These guys are a dime a dozen, all exactly the same, and no one will care or remember that there was a different host after a week.
Boring, boring, boring. The only interesting part was Serena P. being the second person to dump Matt. He’s obviously all-in on Rachael. So, fine, good for him. But the dude was not able to carry this season, and, sadly, without all the manufactured drama...I’m just bored.
It really seemed that Serena P. was Matt’s first choice (or at least top two, with Rachael), with how devastated he was when she self-eliminated. I found her self-elimination to also be similar to Kit’s, where she was trying to lay down so many hints that she didn’t want to be there anymore and Matt was still pushing.
Good review, and thank you for sharing Matt’s IG post. Not that he needed any affirmation, but his comments show how genuine he is as a person.
It’s fairly obvious to me that he picks Rachael (yuck). Question is, does he stay with her despite her being, at best, a casual racist and having Trump supporting parents?
Hannah Brown is the last person who should be matchmaking, given the choices she made on her season.
Matt James really isn’t...good at this, is he? Like, he seems perfectly pleasant, probably, and he says the right things in the moment. It’s just that he can’t carry the show on his own, and the producers know that. He’s not Tayshia, who made what could have been a trainwreck of a Bachelorette season into something…
Clicks, but y’know—there’s something to be said about The Bachelor’s importance in our society and TV landscape. It’s watched by millions. It’s 25 seasons into its run, and this is only the first black bachelor. I think it’s worth receiving criticism. It’s, sadly, more culturally significant than a good number of TV…
Dem clicks.
I’d like to ask a question that I promise isn’t as snarky as it sounds: why is the AV Club reviewing reality TV shows?
Thank you for suffering through this so we don’t have to. Rarely have I like a lead less than this guy. And the women! Where do they get so many people with zero self-awareness?
Ken Jennings!
Matt, don’t pick up the rose if you’re not going to give the rose! Dang!
Ugh, Abigail deserved so much better. I’m not even sure who I want to win at this point--it’s probably going to be Rachael, but it’s not like they’re still together so whatever. Hopefully either Abigail or Katie will be the next Bachelorette.
But I take solace in the fact that this is but a necessary step on the road to Katie being the best Bachelorette in the history of the position.
It was a drag, man. I imagine the producers realize that Matt James on his own is kind of boring as a lead. He’s either a robot, or he’s not being allowed to be a real person. (His dance moves and karate stuff hint are so very dorky, and I’d love to see more of that kind of them.) But I don’t think the producers have…
I would love a season that was managed by someone who wanted a no drama as-normal-as-possible “journey” like Katie. Maybe we’d see an overhaul of the format?
I am so sad to see Katie go, if for no other reason than Serena C. will now feel like she won, when she is in fact a devil. But I take solace in the fact that this is but a necessary step on the road to Katie being the best Bachelorette in the history of the position. This Heather thing is...weird, but it’s not like…
