Yeah, unfortunately. Sorry you were as well...apparently a few long-timers have been, too.

And it still doesn’t matter—the company is still owned by pricks. They simply aren’t donating to anti-gay organizations in the near future.

Yeah, that actually made me a smidge proud to be British. (I’ll take the small victories where I can find them, as there aren’t many of late.)

Agreed on Bowen Yang. Also, every time he appears in a skit, he looks cuter (in this arched eyebrow sort of sense). He looked terrific in that suit.

What about Little Debbie? Was she real?

Hey Joan,

I feel ya. It makes me feel as though I am missing out on so much because of my reactions—and it’s in practically every ‘natural’ beauty product, so it seems. Once, I actually bought a huge haul of rms beauty products and was disappointed to not be able to use any of the line, as I had such a bad reaction to it all.

Oh, behave! [Also a good reminder to finally watch The Detectorists.]

I’ve actually used a knock-off version of Kerastase, so perhaps it’s time to use the real thing. :)

Thanks so much. You’ve captured their outward look to a T, but I’ll definitely give it a try.

Now playing

Dumpster fire” is apt. How foolish was it of him to agree to an Emily Maitlis grilling, with no prior vetting of questions?

I’d like to think Bruce (Bruuuuuce!) plays an important role in the shelter. He’s like the senior whose presence reassures all the new kitties that things will be OK.

Hey, thanks. I used to use their blue conditioner (when I could justify buying a bottle—it is pricey, as you say) and have not in a while. I did recently use a sample packet of their Signature (black bottle) shampoo and conditioner and found it didn’t do me any favours. But perhaps the blue is worth another try.

Thanks, Squiggs. Very good to know about the Badescu cleanser. I’m definitely in the market for a gentle face wash now that I’m backing away from overusing salicylic acid formulations. And, oh Pat McGrath: so many temptations and ways to part with our money...

Oooh, if that’s a dupe of Le Labo’s Santal 33 as the reviews say, then that’s intriguing!
Coincidentally, I bought a set of Charlotte Tillbury’s Pillow Talk lipstick and liner to try as a “YLBB” look. I haven’t tried it yet, but if it doesn’t deliver on its promise, Rush is my next one to try.

A healthy outlook, overall. You’re so very appreciated here and on the Kinja user blogs, m.

Thanks. I’ll give Maui Moisture a look--I also have wavy hair. Looked up the Cassis shade and, Wow! It’s going to look lovely on you at all your holiday gatherings.
