Same. I've really enjoyed the ones I've been to thus far.

"If naturally occurring cut diamonds of astounding size and clarity are that common, then they really ought to have no more value than a seashell, right? "

This show might not always be particular exciting and is sometimes downright boring, but I love how hard it tries. It has introduced how many quite interesting plotlines and seems poised to at least partially deliver on some of them. So the colonists have been intentionally cut off from Earth? Some of the (frankly,

A few months back I was on a field trip that turned into hunting for gem mines and one of the mines featured very old water. It had been tested to be thousands of years old and the professor was trying to convince everyone to try it because of how invigorating it was. It was about two steps away from a SyFy movie and

"Effective at 11AM Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, February 22." (And I'm not being smarmy, I didn't notice either!)

LOL I am slightly over thinking this, BUT, we do know for a semi-established fact that the alt-universe is "behind" us in some ways, especially medical ways. So we would all assume she's on the pill, or something..when who knows what passes for the pill in the alt-universe. It actually makes slightly more sense than

"there are too many hippies, who just aren't conducive to zombie survival."

I can't wait for Elizabeth Bear's Grail; it was the first non-Harry Potter book I ever pre-ordered. And to think, I only read Dust/Chill because of my quest to read all the PKD award nominees!

LOL OUCH. (Though I've already seen it :P). I don't like him anymore anyways.

Americans, that is. Apparently I can't figure out how to edit my comment.

I still text my one-who-got-away. Often multiple times a day, often when we're both trying to fall asleep. This probably isn't healthy for my sanity. As he's engaged. I've seen My Best Friend's Wedding.

I met Lila right after they filmed but hadn't yet released the first video and did not know any of this about her. I've always wanted to pick a fight with her about it on Facebook, but I've noticed someone else on her wall had, and she didn't engage him very well. So it probably isn't worth it.

I may be in the minority on this, but I'd honestly prefer a Hyperion movie to have less awesome design. Less distractions from the mythic quest/humanity in the midst of crazy tech element. Though I may also be a hypocrite because I love Blade Runner.

I want to go there.

@Gilese: The Sea Thy Mistress was supposed to be published last year and got bumped, IIRC. But seriously, reading her blog makes me feel like I'm slacking off big time, it is great motivation.

@Moxie6: Oooh I like that. It would make sense in light of the fact the pieces of the device discovered linked to (present day) Lat/Long.

You know, it sounds pretty awesome, but I am eagerly anticipating JJ adapting a Robert Charles Wilson novel for the screen. Lost and or altered worlds? Potential time travel? It really could be quite fun.

@alixana: Oh yes, I remember getting the Scholastic catalogs and seeing all of them (there are 213 apparently!!!).

@susie-bird: I'm a history BA but have since realized I should go into something more sciencey (well, I should have realized this in high school when everyone was like, wait, what? you're not doing science?). I'm very glad I realized this at 19 rather than after going into a History PhD Program...

@bookling: Nooooooo. The thing I liked most about Pathfinder was it didn't have any of that.
