Counterpoint (which I believe was also made by Top Gear years ago): If your goal in owning a hypercar/sportscar is to call attention to yourself, this one does the trick.
That thing is the sex. Such a missed opportunity. I wonder if it didn’t pass muster because it wasn’t stiff enough for the “Ultimate Driving Machine” of the M-Version of the time?
I wish someone would have told me this 10 years ago when my first-born came. So many people told me that the moment their child was born, it was a life-changing spiritual experience. For me, it was a lot of blood, bodily fluids, screams and smells that made me extremely uncomfortable, followed by a slimy thing coming…
They will charge extra for those. Apparently, I haven’t seen a BMW owner that purchased them.
$kay - If everyone on Jalopnik chipped in to purchase this for you (Go Fund Me, anyone?) Would you agree to doing COTD again?
So...At the risk of spreading false information, my understanding is that a bull’s hormones will tell it to stop growing when it reaches a certain age. A steer’s hormones do not do that for a steer because of the effects of castration.
I don’t even know the price yet, but I’m pretty sure I would buy can’t afford it.
So...Let’s assume that I have kids to haul around (I do). And let’s assume further that I believe this can reliably take them to places (diesel mercs mechanical bits seem to be fairly reliable, but the sensors not so much /probably related to cheating). Lets assume further that I actually like that Designo interior…
So YOU’RE the guy...
My family had a first-gen 4WD MPV (can’t recall if it was a manual, but I think so). I was great off-road in Montana and I seem to recall it having air shocks in the back? Was that a thing?
So many great things to say about this, obviously brilliant father with good judgment:
I dunno. Seems like the fact that this vehicle has made it to this mileage with so few repairs is a pretty solid counter-argument as to precisely why it was a good choice. Maybe you could say that this is an exception, but it seems to be a solid family-hauler they’ve gotten a lot of fun and use out of, rust issues…
This man has been an instrument of God in restoring that vehicle. Truly a an awesome build.

Legitimate Question: Why keep the camo on this thing at this point?
Kinja’d! It was a Ford Aerostar.
One of these. The sliding door kept breaking. It made a power steering whine because it was always low on fluid (never could find the leak). It rode terribly, and was miserable to drive. The back seat was always cold, and it broke down all the time. We fixed it several times and had it for three years before scrapping…
Who?
