Repeat after me: what people are calling AI is not intelligent and does not qualify to be called AI.

As bad as it is now, the internet is going to be sooooo shit in like 3-ish years
Right? That’s not even a hard surgery to get done.
Another issue is that one of the most appealing things about pre-Elon Twitter was that it was a good place to follow breaking news and breaking sports stories. Meta has explicitly stated that they do not want Threads to be that (more room for influencers, I guess), which I get on one hand since it doesn’t fit the…
All that money this guy alledges he has, and yet he doesn’t have a chin.
I could be wrong, but I’m guessing “Threads” is the new “Google+”, a bunch of initial hype, because everyone hates the current social media platforms, only for it to die off, because people hate the new social media platform AND none of their friends are on it.
Any app that won’t launch in the EU over ‘regulatory concerns’ is actively bad for you.
The mind-searing afternoon and evening heat is bad, but it not cooling off adequately at night is in some ways more insidious and makes it a lot more dangerous
Texas Republicans: “well well well, if it isn’t the consequences of my actions woke Jewish space lasers turning the water gay.”

Mergers and acquisitions of any kind are a net negative for the regular consumer. Call of Duty is on the way to exclusivity and that means a required Xbox purchase if not this gen, then next gen for 1 million+.
I don’t think Sony is going anywhere. The only losers here are the gamers.
It’s bad optics if your internationally-marketed blank check-budgeted fantasy world of magical humans is populated like a West Virginia renaissance faire.
Ballinger deserves no pity but I’m also really annoyed by the kinds of people who scour someone’s history for any scandal that might provide them with the tiniest bit of internet clout.
Netflix will likely be one of the survivors - it’s their core business model. They have to keep it going because they don’t have anything else. They could end up dropping original movies/shows and go back to just licensing from studios again as the studios realize that their idiotic streaming models are costing them…
This is one of the main reasons I’m so frustrated about the death of physical media. Nobody can come over my house and throw my DVD collection away, but with streaming there’s no such guarantee. At the bare minimum I wish we had a movie version of Steam. Vudu is close, but with all the restrictions on the content…
The woman was released from a local jail late last week
Here’s a thought on who should be the next Bond:
Nobody. Stop making them. Every Bond filn for the last twenty years keeps looking into the camera and going ‘man it’s weird we keep this colonialist dinosaur running around, huh’ and Casino Royale was the only move that did anything with that but it’s still true. Given…
The idea that Doctor Who wasn’t sexy before now is going to be a big shock for Tumblr.
It’s interesting to compare modern “Prestige” Trek with the older stuff - while I understand the really shiny ~10 episode seasons, it’s hard not to look at the longer, lower-visual-quality 26 episode seasons that gave us things like Q’s Robin Hood and baseball on the holosuite. It’s a different show in a lot of ways.
