Mr. Trump complained, according to the book, that his children “didn’t know how to play the game” and generated cycles of bad press.

Explain how not participating is not throwing a tantrum? A good politician DOES inspire her base but don’t be an asshole that refuses to play because your guy didn’t win. It’s fucking childish to not participate because you aren’t 100% inspired by your candidate.

We do tend to rehabilitate everybody in America.

A lot is going to depend on how Trump goes out. If he’s re-elected and is able to complete the remaking of the judiciary and dismantling of the social safety net, and the economy doesn’t tank, then people will defend their support of him. Trumpism will be the new norm on the right.
