What are you supposed to do when you have 20 people in line who all want to buy an item you only have 10 of?

You did the right thing by walking away.
That salesperson lied to you. That wasn’t a new car, otherwise it wouldn’t be at Carmax.
Carmax can’t sell new cars. They don’t have a contract with any manufacturer. They can sell “like new” cars with a great warranty, but they’re not legally allowed to sell a “new” car.
Wait, how can Carmax have a new car? I thought they only sold used cars. Even if they got it from a dealer, the title still would have to be transferred from the dealer to Carmax.
I’m wondering this too... what would be things to look out for and what might be the long-term impact of the car just sitting and rotting for years?
Same question. On Autotrader, I see some Jetta TDIs barely showing a $2k discount. If it gets applied on top of all that, I guess I’m buying myself a TDI shortly...
Serious question, as a five-time TDI owner: what happens to a car that sits on a dealer lot since 2014 or 15? It is really a new car? I’m vaguely interested, but knocking 8k off the price of a brand new car that has sat in the South getting rained on and whatnot for a few years...it’s a little scarier than a used car…
the game ultimately meant nothing,
As someone who both drives and bikes through the streets of Chicago, I wish driving tests included a 15 minute bike ride in the city. Sometimes a little perspective can go a long way.
I don’t know if this varies from state to state (or maybe city to city) but where I live it’s the law that bikes have a right to use the road and they’re actually prohibited from being on the sidewalk.
Yep get those cars off the roads until they can learn to drive safely!
Both companies are not profitable yet. They are valued at many billions of dollars, yes, but have never turned a profit while they are under incredible pressure to do so in order to demonstrate the feasibility of their business model.
Honestly, I’m just glad they’re for once actually looking at both sides of the coin instead of just constantly stroking their hardon for slamming Uber. I’m actually shocked that this article made it up here. Either Lyft stopped buying ad space or they realized people were getting wise to it.
At first I thought it was Uber, but I agree with you, Jalop just blanket hates ride sharing services.
The driving isn’t the issue guy, its the parking. THE PARKING!!!!
1) Anything is better than driving yourself around while intoxicated.
Except for that last one (thanks, Texas climate!!), that exact thing has happened to me. Line for line.
“worked feverishly to spike a proposed city regulation for ride-hailing services.” That was for the “fingerprinting” of workers (or whatever you want to call them), right? They already go through a background check. Requiring someone wanting to make a few bucks driving people around to be fingerprinted and logged into…
Still better than a fucking cab.
I'm not the fastest marathoner in the world. A middle-of-the-pack waddling Clydesdale. I have run 10 marathons and in at least two, aid stations ran out of drink or food and both races had considerable bandit problems. I carry water with me, but others around me had to duck into stores and buy water or went without.…
