I agree that he deserves more than a kick to the head, which is why he went to prison for two and a half years. It’s not the cops job to decide what punishment he deserves on site. You are a dolt.

Plus a phone screen can’t replace an e-ink screen. The fact that I can read my kindle and then fall asleep two seconds later makes it far better than trying to read on a phone or tablet for me.

This is exactly true. In addition to the fact that this only selects for employees that don’t give a shit about where they get hired you’re also weeding out anyone who has any sense of self worth who will refuse to deal with a system like this. If I applied for a job and this was the response I would immediately stop

I think we should do as much as possible to not give taxpayer dollars to the military but I like the idea of doing this for Americorps or teachers or other underpaid professions that provide public service.

The pins are so bad I forgot about the cardboard. The thing under the collar. The piece of plastic on the top button. The full 8.5x11" sheet of it that keeps it stiff. All so it can be EXTREMELY wrinkled brand new!

I have the opposite problem. I am pretty skinny so dress shirts never fit me. They look like the Seinfeld puffy shirt. I do my own shopping but I think the reason a lot of men have their wives do it is because they don’t know what is fashionable, don’t know what they want, and assume if their wife picks something out

I’d also add (as a man who can and does shop for himself at regular stores) that trying on dress shirts is a gigantic pain in the butt. There are always like 50 pins in them that take 5 minutes to pull out but you still stab yourself on one. Then the shirt doesn’t fit and you feel bad that it is never going to be

He’s still posting these. There are six of them now all getting ratio’d.

He was a terrible pilot though. Anyone who can crash three planes probably doesn’t have the best aim.

I agree with you that allowing people currently in prison to vote is a relatively small issue. However, restoring voting rights to people who have been released is a big issue. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to start with the argument that everyone gets to vote and compromise with everyone no longer imprisoned can vote.

I think it would be pretty easy to make a rack that is clearly for scooters and not bikes. Mainly because bikes need to be locked up, and these would be more of a corral. It would be great to see an occasional parking space removed and replaced w/ a scooter corral. There’s plenty of data to show that these are good

This isn't something new though. It's just a car in a tunnel dug with already existing tunnel digging machines.

It is wild how worked up people get about these things. Between street parking and lots cities routinely devote half of their surface are to cars. I get that this is a car blog but it is in fact possible to both own a car and occasionally use other transportation methods.

What about scooters is not “useful” to you? You don’t have them in your city so how would you even know?

Where is its place? Cities have decided it is fine to dedicate massive amounts of space for people to leave their car when they’re not using it. There’s no designated scooter parking.

There’s nothing in the story indicating that the city is paying for or requesting this. The city might have the right to remove the scooters, but I don’t see how this random company does.

I do understand that. Whoever owns the parking lot hires a specific company to tow cars from that lot. There is zero indication in this story that the city is hiring the company to pick up the scooters.

The original comment I was replying to talked about a taxi being parked in someone’s driveway. The property that these scooters are being removed from does NOT belong to the company removing them. The company is taking it upon themselves to remove things from other people’s property, without the property owner asking

If you owned a strip mall that was covered in scooters that would mean people are riding scooters to your strip mall to do business. So throwing them out would be fucking stupid.

Here’s the difference - cities are built with insane amounts of car storage built in. Take Detroit - half of the city’s area is comprised of surface parking. Phoenix devotes 10% of its land to car parking. You can fit 10 scooters in the same space as one car.
