Are you Goldman Sachs CEO, Lloyd Blankfein? if not, i think convincing her the maintenance costs wont be too high, may be a tad difficult.

i wonder how often you'll find one with its original trans, and not ridden like a Bangkok hooker. by the time they hit $20K -ish (if they ever do) i fully expect them to have GReddy stickers on them and have whatever flavor of the month Pep Boys do-dads installed, and poorly.

dude, i hope your right. thing is, the Boxter depreciated because it was a turd. The Cayman, i think should hold its value pretty well. among porsche enthusiasts its much more a spiritual successor to the old air cooled 911's than the current 911.

FWIW, a number of the bugs in the Beta build (including the floor glitches) didnt appear to be in the Alpha. Its likely something they're aware of and can probably fix relatively easily. They may shipped a build that was certified and stable, they undoubtedly have builds that are much more finished but not through the

i've been preaching this same line. its saddening because i had aways remembered the BF target market had an average age of 34! i'm hoping that the numbers present in the beta are a lot of the freeloading kids that want to try out something they heard was "better than COD".

i agree with you, but i've also closely followed what the dev team has said about a lot of these things and stuff like being deployed to map keys and change settings are unique to the beta, they will not be present in the release, apparently.

This beta was a missed opportunity to fully showcase what sets Battlefield 3 apart from Call of Duty

in all honesty, i'm surprised that they didnt just recreate a BC2 map (ostensibly one that would/could ship with the game, something like Harvest Day) so that way they were giving everyone a taste of something new without tipping their hand. DICE really wants to be part of the community but the community makes it *SO*

With the exception of the shift from 95 to 98, all those new releases were major fundamental shifts in the OS platform. This is just the typical release schedule for most major developers. Its the same for their Office, Exchange and Server products too. Mac OS follows a similar timeline [en.wikipedia.org]

i'm sorry, but again i'd have to disagree with you. There were service packs for all earlier versions of Windows (except for 3.1). This is basic lifecycle of MS products. Office has a similar release schedule, as does Exchange and Server Platforms. Is also not uncommon for other developers too (see Mac OSX cycle here:

Try playing with friends. teamwork is nigh impossible with randoms. i play with a regular set of people and (occasionally) without friends. the difference is huge. Also like mentioned spawning on teammates and mobile spawns are really helpful.

i'mma have to disagree with you here.Windows OS'es have been staggered in 2-3 year intervals for a long time. XP stayed around for a while, but i think that was mostly because the computer world was changing too rapidly for MS to keep up.

This beta is supposed to be a server strength test

most of what you say is spot on. in mild defense however, the pulse rifles sounded *just* like that as i recall.

I *really* hate to do this, but i feel i must, if only because it tarnished your humor. The word your looking for is 'foul'. To the left, however, you will see what we call 'fowl'.

yep, still showing what is obviously 4 engines, even though the far side inboard engine is obscured by the fuselage. regardless, there is certainly not 5.

le sigh...

um... this is not factual. its random conjecture by a person that has no idea wtf hes talking about. his sources? "in a book i wrote" yeah. awesome.

how exactly would this have "saved so many people"? a stinger missile wont vaporize a 747 and make it magically disappear. at best, such a scenario would cause the jetliner to crash into the east or hudson rivers, still killing most if not all the innocent people on board. at worst, it would just cause the plane to
