Please fix this article. it is wrong in several places. you can start by looking here [en.wikipedia.org]#MC-130J_Combat_Shadow_II or at the picture n the left which clearly shows that the plane is configured with FOUR turboprops. its most significant (public) change is a dramatic reduction in crew, from 8 or 9 to 5

here here! what has been said, could not have been said better. I cut the cord about 7 years ago. Hulu, Netflix, Youtube and the like provide me with all the idiot box viewing pleasure i need.

UM... DICE is probably the most liberal studio in recent memory in terms of DLC. They *always* have free DLC as well as paid for every release. and if its paid its like BC2:Vietnam, not just a map pack but a total expansion with new vehicles, maps, weapons, unlocks, sounds color pallate etc.

They have a month. Add to that that like every major game in recent memory, there are patches Day 1. Bugs like UI issues in battlelog are way easier and faster to fix because its a browser based system, so its just HTML and jscript.

From my experience i'd have to say its somewhere between BC2 and BF2 but leaning closer to BF2. The controls are a little heavier than BC2. Though you can run and use directional buttons at the same time and the turret speed on the Tank .50 cal seems to be a lot better. But the jump detection doesnt let you leap a

Dont you mean Magnum?

i'm forever the optimist.

I think, seeing that the pre-orders are 10x the number of BC2 and seeing that this game is expected to be one of (if not the) biggest game of the year, i'm sure EA will kick some extra resources their way so that the servers dont fall to their knees on Oct 25.

TBH i typically game with TeamSpeak in the background and have any in-game stuff muted. i've found most randoms that i run into are either incredibly immature or just too "Bro-tastic" for my tastes.

There is a torrent of it available (I helped create it) its a valid torrent but we didnt realize that the install path needs to be changed. there are tons of seeds so i think d/ling it should be ok.

Heres the beauty of it: because its a website, they can dynamically update it quickly. compatibility should never be an issue as long as the game is being maintained.

No, i played Caspian Border last night. It only got laggy for us when we had over 40 ppl in it from 3 continents. thats not bad. it was a beautiful experience and i think if all the players had been in the same area (US or EU) it would have been fine, in fact it was with 20-25 people in it.

you can simply login to Battlelog and click Join Server and it will launch Origin in the background, log you in, and lauch BF3 ni the background. the whole proccess takes no longer than any other game interface, in practice.

its a way to interact with friends socially, from that respect its no different from steam.

i've been running the Beta with as many as 12 chrome tabs open, Firefox, Steam, Origin (of course), and TeamSpeak on my i5 2500k and am only seeing approx 85-95% CPU load distributed evenly across all 4 cores.

i was noticing the same thing, with my i5 2500k and 6950. It runs smooth as hell. I will say taht they did tell us that the graphics in the beta were still not 100% of what the retail version will deliver though 0.0!

THIS, a million times this. Change is hard people, even when its for the better. give this UI a chance, it fucking ROCKS!

I'm surprised at the generally negative tone you have here. Granted, its not what we're used to but after messing around with it in the alpha, and now the beta, i'm becoming increasingly comfortable with it. It offers some real advantages for both the developer and for the gamer.
