This. Thank you.

First Gear: I hope this factory isn’t made to fix the 2020 chip shortage in 2025.

Intel’s plant in Albuquerque/Rio Rancho helps prop up the local economy, so there’s precedent for them not being totally awful when it comes to jobs and hiring practices. Though I agree that it’s good to be skeptical about whether or not Columbus will be all that is planned right now.

Commercial vans (esp RVs) have been a ripe market for Hybridization for at least a decade. I would argue even more so for plug-in varieties since a lot of RV accessible campsites have electric 120v 30AMP power.

People are using forums and instead of Facebook groups.

As local people scurried to mount a rescue attempt, the woman was spotted taking a selfie to immortalize the moment, or something like that.

Not like there was much else she could do in that situation. Might as well document it.

Thankfully EM didn’t write this article, otherwise it’d be some commentary about how the car jacker fell on hard times and deserved access to the Audi because the owner had insurance.

I see this all the time in Utah and Wyoming - but it’s people who buy a travel trailer and leave it on public land the entire summer to occupy a spot. I’ve started documenting and reporting. The forest service will go remove them. And they do. So hopefully they’ll get the message very clearly that it’s not okay. But I

Nah ... it's better than that, it's more like the feeling of seeing your last kid move out of your house knowing you are finally reaching the light at the end of a long tunnel that you have struggled to get through.

This car only has 23 miles on it.

Well played

If you’re wealthy enough to “park a car” you’re pretty much asking for it, right?

It’s understandable.  The pandemic has hit people hard, these people are just trying to sca... earn a living.

The packages are largely from retailers like Amazon and REI. Packages that contained less valuable items, like still incredibly expensive Epi pens and hard-to-find rapid home COVID-19 tests, didn’t have a high enough resale value or usefulness and were left on the tracks with the rest of the debris.”

Regarding how expensive everything is: California needs to stop being hypocritical on policy. If you champion affordable housing but only in places acceptable to affluent people (aka NIMBY), you don’t get any affordable housing that helps anything. This isn’t unique to CA, just the most extreme example(s), but it’s

This weird apologist take is just bad. These people are thieves, stealing things from OTHER people who legitimately bought something despite the poor economy.

Yeah, my sympathies are with the people who paid (a lot—they’re not cheap) for epi pens to save their lives and didn’t get them, not with the vandals and thieves that _really_ need a hit of meth and trashed the life-saving pens. They’re not stealing food and blankets to care for their families, they’re just stealing

Was going to say, all my friends who have lived in, went to college in, moved to Boston went and bought a fairly reliable shitbox that they did not care if it started to look like something out of Mad Max by the 3rd week there.

Tell me you’re from Boston without telling me you’re from Boston
