He imported it for sale which is the problem I think. Even though it is an auction for charity, it is still probably considered a sale and the state wants it’s cut. It would have probably been fine if he was wearing it and did not mention the auction.

Your headline says “Hertz Is Selling Its Fleet Of Rental Tesla Model 3s For Cheap”. You specify “more than 100" for under 25,000 and their web site shows 356 total Teslas for sale.   This is not “selling it’s fleet”.  

I wouldn’t mind them addressing how comments will work in general. Like, are we sticking with Kinja? Are they going to find a new way to host comments? Will the moderation be better/easier?

I bet not hard enough. There is no end to the depths scummy dealers will sink, nor the ingenuity they employ to do so. They could actually work less hard just by being honest, but they need to be scumbags on a genetic level.

My sincere hope is the site is not just back but returns to some of the former quality and insight that made it a an outsized-pop culture staple. Frankly the site had been in decline for years before its shuttering. I don’t mean to shit on you or any other writers who, I gather, have been working under less-than-ideal…

I never take any “overlanding” or “off-road” package from any manufacture without real rocker protection and recovery points front and rear. Without those they are just accessory sales tools/ photo shoot toys.

Also, weird to say The Masked Singer is “apparently still on” when this very website has multiple articles a week about The Masked Singer when it’s in season.

I started reading Gawker every day around 20 years ago when I still lived in NYC, probably more for the local gossip than anything else. When I moved to the other side of the world, it was one way I maintained a connection to “home” at the time.
