It’s funny how bold design eventually just recedes into the background unless it’s truly outlandish.

Like Rush Limbaugh before him, Joe Rogan is ignorance masquerading as insight.
Thank you for sharing this. I haven’t enjoyed a review this much since the NYT took down Guy Fieri’s time square restaurant.
That’s totally fair. We need to stop framing this as a question of “years” and describe it is something that will happen once Car2car communications and next generation processors are in place.
Made me laugh. How are the same people that have seen the internet, GPS, drones, ML, smartphones, lights of manufacturing, EVs and robotics go from nascent to practical in 30 years still thinking that progress is going to stop.
This is a little tacky, but it sure beats another copy of Robert Indiana’s “LOVE”.
It put them somewhere between Polaris and Nissan for market cap, and at about 1/5th the size of Stellantis. Put another way, they are large enough to hire a dedicated legal team, design team and absorb fines if they really want to sell the the Thar in Australia.
I live in the Cascadia subduction zone, and the general guidance has been that if there is a 9+ earthquake, that it might be two weeks before help even begins to arrive. Most of the more planful people I know keep 30 days of food, 30 days of water plus pet food, meds, toiletries, contacts etc... to get through a bad…
Mahindra got clearance to reintroduce the Roxor in 2021, but sales haven’t started yet. They have a skeleton website up under Roxor branding. I think if Mahindra took a similar approach with the Thar, and created a horizontal grill with distinctive headlights they might get away with bringing the Thar to Australia.
Well said. On one hand, there is wisdom in getting the consumer reports top rated model. On the other hand, we all die, so making a some choices in life to get exactly what you want isn’t the worst thing.
Not all heroes wear capes.
I think a fairly apples to apples comparison is the listings where the seller expects you to waive the inspection.
The Vanderhall Edison is pretty spendy at $35k, and I can’t imagine this would be any cheaper based on Caterham’s usual prices.
I will never hold it against someone who corrects me on the internet when they are right.
I was pretty taken with the looks of the first Evoque when it came out, especially the two door. In the 10 years since then, the rest of the market has gone all in on CUVs, and this thing now seems like an also ran alongside a dozen options that cost less and look similar.
It’s established Friends cannon that 9/11 didn’t happen. In the Friendsiverse (FriendsCU?), Malala is an Afghani immigrant who helps Chandler pick out tasteful rugs at her families store.
Came here to say this. There are lots of places where $100K over asking is assumed for anything listing between $400k - $800k. A friend recently offered $100k over asking and a bottle of 30 year Hibiki Whiskey and was still beat out by other offers.
Don’t give them ideas!
A big part of Tesla’s success, and a reason for some of the dumb things they do is that they don’t hire people who have worked at legacy car manufacturers. Sometimes that results in a “go faster” mindset and radical innovation. Other times it results in doing stupid things that other car companies figured out 50 years…
When I worked for a utility and FAC-501 got release to start governing InfoSec with million dollar fines, the response of the utility was to unplug all their substations from the internet. Given the general competency level, it wasn’t the worst idea, but it still cracks me up.
