There’s a pretty popular updated version for iOS that came out several years ago. I can’t vouch for it, but it looks nice and is pretty widely available.

Magazines. By ‘89 we already had Nintendo Power, Game Pro, and EGM.

Thousands of players just learned that Santa isn’t real.

I definitely remember this. It’s funny, now- but at the time, they were on the cusp of a new generation. SEGA released some of it’s best Genesis titles in ‘94 and ‘95, but the SEGA CD, 32X, and much vaunted Saturn made everyone assume that SEGA should give up on it and move on. In only one year’s time, the result of

I think it’s a combination of platform and price. Digital-only distribution hurts it, too. I won’t pay more than $10 for a digital game. Probably won’t pay more than $5 for a digital game on 3DS. This game looks right up my alley, but I’ve moved on from 3DS, and I have a growing backlog across too many platforms. I’ll

Rad video. Great idea for a series. Also, thanks for linking to YouTube in the article. Kotaku video player does not like my phone for some reason.

Extortionate prices? I just checked ebay and found several complete copies in the $20-$40 range. I mean, it’s not the $5-$10 prices it went for in 2007, but I don’t think that’s terrible pricing for a complete physical copy of a cult classic on a legacy console.

Yeah, I’m kind of interested- but I would rather test a used physical copy at a discount. Maybe they’ll port the trilogy to switch (but I doubt it).

Me and my friends won bar trivia last night, too! We win most weeks, but it’s still fun. I really hit the jackpot with topic that was all Pixar-related, so it was a landslide victory for us :)

So many people here claiming to have given up watching a 20 minute video, who then proceeded to spend 20 minutes trying to write clever comments explaining why they don’t like you. At the very least you are inspiring some real engagement in the community. For what it’s worth: I really enjoy these videos. Keep making

Is there a better video player embedded anywhere else?

I don’t recall what I paid, but I know I had it preordered for release day :)

And I will buy it for the 4th time :)

I was getting worried about Mike and noticed a lot more chatter in the comments in the past week concerning his whereabouts. I’m so sorry to hear about Mike’s condition, but relieved to hear that he’s in good hands. Get well soon, Mike!

Yeah, it’s fantastic. It’s the game Metroid 2 always should have been. And no rogue-like gameplay :)

Agreed. I just don’t like rogue-likes and putting those mechanics into a genre I do like is only going to frustrate me. The joy of metroidvania is finding your way through a huge maze and building familiarity and mastery through backtracking and discovery. I don’t want the maps and enemies to randomly change every

Stretch Panic.

Interesting! I was not at all aware of this. I recall the general opinion online last generation was that the cell was a unique and complex system to develop for and that the 360 was closer to off the shelf PC stuff, which made it much closer to PC developer environment. Apparently none of that matters when it comes
