I am well aware of the cost benefits of Steam publishing, however, when these kinds of games launch on kickstarter with the upfront intention of launching across a variety of consoles and hand-helds, we see them get funded 4 times over in the same amount of time it has taken for this campaign to reach 25% (I’m

That’s true. I didn’t end up backing Mighty No. 9 until they added those stretch goals.

Disappointing that they aren’t targeting any consoles or handhelds at this point, but I still wish them the best of luck. I’ll be taking a wait-and-see approach until they do.

Good to know. I’m about halfway through the game, but I’ve only found like 3 firefighters and I’ve almost finished the car chase with missiles missions. And only like, 2 of the bad guy check point missions. I’m not getting many intel prompts either- so it sounds like the end of the game is going to be padded out with

As lame as this article is- I was not aware that they had announced a PS4 Physical Copy backer tier. Thanks to your snarky little diatribe, I went and donated to this kickstarter. Thanks.

Eh, I don’t think flying over the city for hours on end listening to a police scanner for clues or for classical music is a quality use of my playing time. I just think most of these missions are laid out in a lazy way that don’t really fit into the story and they don’t account for player progression- so they clutter

LOL- I was just thinking about this convo. And true to my word, I just joined the kickstarter now that they have added the PS4 physical copy award tier. Proud to put my money where my mouth is.

I agree. I enjoy the new Batman game- but it’s got waaaaaaaay too much filler. And if you don’t waste hours of your life following every crappy side objective then you’ll never get enough experience points to unlock all the cool gameplay improvements that they’ve added to make this game better than the previous games

Different strokes for different folks. I spent about 6 hours playing through the career mode, time trials, and online matches last December when they updated the game with dynamic weather. I wanted to love it- but the car selection, the handling, the physics- all felt like crap to me. I tried a ton of different cars

That’s too bad about the sales. Those games were high quality and a lot of fun. These psuedo-sims are becoming a dime a dozen. There is a real void in quality racing games outside of the simulation category right now, unless you’re really into Need For Speed (I’m not). These guys have the chops- but Driveclub is a

Beautiful game- but very disappointing.

It’s awful. It tries to look like the old ones- but it feels NOTHING like the old ones.

Mario Sunshine was not critically panned. It sits right in between Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World on Metacritic- and when you consider that it was the follow-up to Mario 64- easily one of the 20 most-beloved and critically praised video games of all time- it definitely held its own among critics and

Mario Tennis is one of the most consistently great Mario spin-offs around and easily my favorite “sports” video game series.

That’s because MS paid a ton of money to Square Enix to get JRPGs onto their platform last gen. It was because they still thought they had a chance in Japan and they wanted to lure over long-time PlayStation fans who prefer Japanese console games by starving them of Japanese exclusives that they paid for. MS has all

I don’t know- I don’t think anyone expected Mario 3D World to be bad- they were just expecting something more out of the developer of the Mario Galaxy games than a multiplayer-focused sequel to a 3DS game. The game is good, but I can totally understand why people were bummed. It’s a downgrade.

I do like the art direction of this game, but the actual gameplay looks like every other 3rd person shooter out there. Maybe I’ll try a demo if they release one, but I don’t think this game will be one I spend any time with.

Bleh.

Did you read the part where they said it couldn’t run on PS3? How about the part where they said the footage they showed 5 years ago was on up-specced hardware (not actual PS3 specs).

Although that wording doesn’t necessarily imply that there isn’t a PS4 physical version being made- just that this particular kickstarter is only officially for the PC version- with a copy for download on PS4.
I’m sure it was a safety net for Sony in the event that there was very little consumer interest- no physical
