I knew I was an arcade game before I even answered the first question. What are some of the other possible outcomes?

Ugh. More cover-based shooters? Are we not sick of this, yet?
That is some great color work.
I would love an HD follow up to 8, please and thanks.
For what it's worth, I had no idea that this kickstarter campaign was underway. That said, I'm not a huge fan of guitar hero or the dancing game, so it's hard for me to get excited for yet another music game. While it's comforting to know that this is an established studio who is pretty much guaranteed to deliver on…
I was a launch adopter. I was pretty bummed on the Wii U about a year ago. Aside from the 30-cent Virtual Console Wii U titles, there wasn't anything worth playing. But 9 months ago, great games started coming out. Beginning with Earthbound and Pikmin 3 in the late summer and continuing with Wonderful 101 and Wind…
I respectfully disagree. FF III and IV on DS are very difficult compared to VII. They are absolutely worth playing- but the simplicity of their systems doesn't outweigh the difficulty curve. Similar to Earthbound- a "simple" JRPG- these games can be frustratingly difficult in the first hour or two and are likely to…
I think I have to agree with most of the replies. This is one of my favorites, but it would be hard for me to recommend to beginners of the genre. I might recommend it to a beginner if they were WAY into anime (for the quality of the story)- but chances are, if they're into anime, they probably already play JRPGs.…
As expected, most responses to this nomination come from people who hate FFVII. I agree that it's a great introduction to the genre. It doesn't have to be the best game in the series to recommend it as the best for beginners. I think it has the most accessible leveling system in the series (almost any character can be…
I'd be happy with a Super Mario All-Stars collection of HD 3D Mario games (64/Sunshine/Galaxy 1/2).
Okami is available on PS2/PS3/Wii.
My buddy just picked himself up a PS2 a few months back. He is making his way through a ton of classics. I'm not so much jealous of him (well maybe a little- he gets to experience Shadow of the Colossus and Okami for the first time) as I am stoked for him. This is something I love that I can share with him- and he's…
I wish we were getting a game about New Order.
I blame EGM's Quarterman.
I prefer the cute/happy Kirby- but I will give NOA credit for not completely abandoning the pretty Japanese original art. Most Kirby games maintain their original packaging and only alter his eyes. It's odd to me- but judging by the way most Japanese games see their original artwork butchered on the way to the west-…
Well I was waiting to hear back on bug fixes and now I'm in the middle of Dark Souls II. I'll be sure to come back to this one in the summer, for sure. Glad to hear so much feedback from players saying that they haven't had too many problems.
I totally had that see-thru game boy. The "play it loud" series. One of my friends had a black one, another friend had a green one, and yet another friend had a red one. Back in late '94- early '95, I would play Link's Awakening, Donkey Kong Land, Mega Man 3, and Bonk's Revenge any time my parents dragged me out of…
Compared to online shooters, watching paint dry/grass grow is exciting... since you were wondering.
I totally agree. I feel that the 16-bit era and Polygon era kind of naturally flow into each other. It's hard for me to definitively place a segment between the eras based on anything other than maybe graphics. FF VII raised the graphical bar- but very much continued a smart- but logical progression of mechanics.…
I feel like the 16-bit and Polygon eras pretty much flow right into each other. But for sheer volume, I guess the Super NES/PC Engine is largely an untouchable era for the genre. Pity, you guys missed out on Phantasy Star, though...
