I can't believe it's already been 10 years. I was so pumped for this game the first time I saw it, and for only $20 new at the time of release, it was an obvious no-brainer. I also believe this was the last game I ever had the pleasure of purchasing from FuncoLand.

The Gauntlet series is more focused on co-operative arcade action.

I'll not have you badmouthing Mario 64, sir. The gameplay and slick, acrobatic controls were always the centerpiece of that game and they have aged incredibly well. It's still the best-looking N64 game in my opinion.

You had me at "cross between Earthbound and Paper Mario".

Where's the "spouse-who-ALWAYS-falls-asleep-ten-minutes-before-the-end-of-the-show-so-you-have-to-rewatch-the-last-ten-minutes-again-before-watching-the-next-episode"?
Anyone else have this problem? ;)

Ewww that d-pad X(

Great news. I was keeping an eye out on the kickstarter but held out for consoles. I think I'll pick this up on Vita :)

I died so much today. I'm thinking of starting over as a different class. I'm trying out a warrior but he's such a wuss (I usually play as a knight). It's like two hits and I'm dead. Not loving the fact that you respawn weaker and weaker after each death, either. I'll keep plugging along- but I don't remember having

You might want to put a more prominent spoiler warning on this. Wonderful illustration for a sad/beautiful story, though.

Man, that hover-speeder .gif under the headline reminds me of Jet Moto. I would SO MUCH PREFER a new Jet Moto game than a crappy next-gen shooter. I already see this turning into another Killzone Vs Halo thing and it just doesn't merit such a trivial popularity contest.

Whaaaaat??? That looks like a love letter to Sega AM2 racers. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for letting me know it exists. Will look up more details :D

Totally agree. I was disappointed in the sequel, and never played the most recent one. I liked the emphasis on stealth and clever level design in the first game (keeping you boxed in and not bogging down the story with monotonous side quests and collect-athons), and the second replaced most of that with open-world

You're one of the first I've seen who will bravely admit it's their favorite JRPG in this comments section. There are like 20 other guys who are like "FFVII is overrated and not worthy of this list!" just because it's one of the most popular games of the genre.
It's fine to think that it's not that great, but it's

Sorry. Maybe he'll post an article asking for "the best non-drug-related hallucination sequences" next time.

I haven't seen the GBA version, but that's a bummer to hear.

Yeah you do! :)
