I died a few times, but not excessively. I played stealth. The game encouraged you to do so by allowing you to upgrade your hearing, so I maxed that out early on. I sneaked around and tried to kill every enemy. I was mostly successful- but it made certain encounters take a very long time. And if I died, it would be a

Agreed for the most part. The first Uncharted was a great showpiece in 2007, it was flawed, but at that point it felt pretty fresh and new. Stop-n-pop shooters were still a novelty. The sequel stepped up the shooting mechanics, but they introduced weird melee mechanics (not that they were any better in the original)

That's what the game clock said. Could be wrong. I played that game S-L-O-W. I spent almost the whole time stealthing it, and then when I realized that certain, scripted parts were virtually unstealthable (fuck you spellcheck- "unstealthable" is a REAL word! Sorry 'bout that) I was like "fuck this game" and just took

Sounds awesome. My friend and I just finished the game last night. I LOVED the story. But I got sick of playing the game halfway through because the fighting and stealth become a boring and monotonous chore. I respect their decisions as game designers, but the gameplay in Last of Us became stale for me very quickly.

I LOVE THIS GAME.

Metal Slug

Yes, I've already emulated it. But I would love to pay to support it legally as well as to be able to more easily share with others (via steam gifting or something).

Dat GRADIUS set, tho...

Yeah, I guess there is a lot of interest in this title across all platforms. I've gotten a lot of response here (regarding this post) from hopeful Wii-U owners. I play on all platforms, and this game doesn't really interest me- but I assumed (incorrectly) that this game mostly appealed to the PS3/360/next-gen crowd.

Yeah, I'm aware of the unofficial English patch. I don't think he was involved though.

Well I wasn't trying to compare this game to a AAA release. As far as hype goes- every new AAA release is simultaneously the GREATEST THING EVARRR or TOTAL SHIT WORST as far as the average gamer is concerned.
I meant that as far as a boutique/niche game goes- often times the discussion is passionately dominated by the

Thanks for responding. I have pretty much every current platform as well, except for PS4/Xbone. I plan on getting a PS4... eventually. Or rather, as soon as there are games that I feel are worth owning and playing. I like all my systems to varying degrees. I love my Wii U, but this game never appealed to me. I don't

Yeah, I don't know. It's a tough nut to crack. I hope this game does well, but I don't know how this game will play or what else the team has made in the last 20 years. I know he worked on Snatcher, but that was a Kojima game first and foremost, and I would like to be able to legally purchase and play said game on a

That's fine. And I agree with you that it's a good game. But you also have to acknowledge its shortcomings. My original objection is to Totillo's claim that this game is a must-play at $30-$40. "I highly doubt you'll be disappointed" as he claims. I'm just throwing it out there- as a fan- that I think a lot of people

I mean, Policenauts never got an official English localization, but a patch exists online. Using that as a template, it would further cut down localization costs immensely. Basically Konami is leaving a bunch of free money on the table.

I don't even need a modern update. Just leave them as is and release them in the west. Boom: they'll get my money.

Sorry, FLCL was late to the party.

Honestly, I'd take anything at this point. Maybe throw in some options to switch on the fly between original pixels and cleaned up HD (ala R-Type Dimensions). More people deserve to play these games.

Notice that I used the word "publisher" and not "game dev". I understand the difference. Do you?
