"Tesseract" kind of sounds like "pederast" :P

Anyway, I use a variety of different names on different devices, but since I don't spend much time playing online games, I don't put much stock in a handle for PSN/LIVE/Steam.

My kotaku handle (laser beams) is also used on a few other sites. Not an amazing story, or

No child ever asked Santa Claus for an HD DVD player.

I wonder how long those two teeth will last in prison...

My first reply began: "That's cool. I think Halo is retarded". A little crass, sure- but clearly stating that it was ok if others enjoy Halo, but that I don't appreciate it. When you continually insist that I have been stating my opinion as though it's a fact, it makes me feel that you either want to argue with me-

Telling me that I'm confusing opinion with fact is pretty argumentative. I've made it clear that my dislike of Halo is purely my own opinion. I don't need to discuss the merits of the expanded universe beyond that. Sorry if I shut you down, but I'm really not interested in it at all. Glad you like it, though. It's

Hi, I'm Troy McClure. You may remember me from other computer travel guides such as "Smother Me in Shreveport", "Pinch Me, I'm in Boise" and "I Left My Soul in Sacramento".

Technically Sony is in front of the PlayStation ;)

I'm not sure why you're still trying to argue with me since we're talking about an imaginary movie that may or may not ever happen, but I'm not going to read that wall of text. I'm obviously not as familiar with Halo as you are, and this is by choice. I am not interested in it. At all. I'm sorry you can't accept that.

Which country?

I think the portal gun is the best weapon of this era. FPS players can dig it, but so can puzzle/platforming fans. I didn't really enjoy many of the games mentioned in this article, and of the ones that I did like, I avoided the bow like the plague. No thanks.

Look man, I'm not trying to change your mind or anything, but you have to understand that you aren't going to change mine, either. I'm not mistaking opinion for fact. I've never stated anything other than my own opinion. You can check back to earlier comments if you don't believe me. I've played enough Halo to know

Yes. District 9 wasn't perfect, but it was exciting and new and definitely made a positive impact in Sci-fi films. I think part of that success was due to it being an original concept. A Halo movie has too many strings attached to it. It has expectations to meet from fans, critics, producers, marketers, investors,

I think the fact that neither of us has bothered to watch it speaks volumes about the demand for anything Halo-related that isn't a game ;)

I honestly think that if any studio is serious about making a successful Halo movie, they need to fully commit. Don't hire an unknown artsy director to save a buck. Just make a big, dumb Halo movie with a big, dumb Michael Bay/JJ Abrams-type director, give it a huge marketing budget and wait for the money to flow in.

Well, as they say: different strokes for different folks. Having a rich and fleshed-out universe is no substitute for a strong story, in my opinion. I think the expanded Star Wars universe is the perfect embodiment of this. For all the myriad Star Wars lore, I think there are very few great stories to come out of that

I just think the world of Halo is so generic and unappealing that they would have to throw out almost everything. At which point, why even bother with a Halo movie at all? If that means that a talented director attached to the movie gets a budget to make an original film, I'll take the original film over a

That's cool. I think Halo is retarded, and I'm a little sad to admit that I've played most of them. To make a good movie out of the Halo universe, Blomkamp would have needed to throw out everything that made it "Halo" and then written an original story and characters that weren't terrible. Also, there would have been

As a gamer, I'm glad that Blomkamp made District 9 instead.
