I don't know what it is about PS4 and Xbone, but of all the announced games, I think this is the first one that I'm actually interested in. It looks beautiful based on the art direction. I know a lot of great developers that I love are busy making games already, but I haven't seen anything else that really has me

I just happened to look it up about 10 years ago when I went to a friend's house and got my ass kicked at Kirby's Avalanche. I thought it was strange that it played EXACTLY like Mean Bean Machine (which I had on Genesis as a kid- though I was never good at it). Then I learned that they were both licensed remakes of

I would definitely say unrelated. Sharing a genre and a publisher is bound to have a few overlapping personnel. The games were not designed by the same people and the Mother series predates the Pokemon series. Members of HAL Laboratories also worked on the Mother games, but I wouldn't say that Kirby is related to

No, you just saw a turn-based battle system. If that's the basis for your theory, then Pokemon and Phantasy Star are probably connected, too.

Mean Bean Machine/Kirby's Avalache was a re-skin of Puyo Puyo. Probably the most recognized/popular old-school puzzle franchise after Tetris. It remains a legitimately great puzzler.

The Pokemon series and the Mother series are unrelated. Aside from touching on familiar themes of leaving home and modern suburban life they really don't have much in common other than a top-down perspective and the fact that they are both published by Nintendo. The worlds of each series are vastly different and the

If you played through any of the Earthbound games, you'd understand that the music is perfectly in tone with the series and sounds very much like the scores from previous games.

As a big fan of the Mother series, I can attest to the fact that out of everything shown in the teaser trailer above- the music is the most accurate thing, so far. It's actually really impressive that they got the eerie melodies and sounds so close to the style and mood of previous titles.

The flip side of that would be PS3 and WiiU players not getting the benefit of learning of all the flaws and shortcomings in the versions for those consoles. As a consumer, I want to know if a game is poorly made and frequently crashes. If I just wanted to know how the game plays- there's a ton of other reviews for

Been stewing in anger in the back of your cave for the last 2 months over that comment, eh retard? It's called an opinion. Accept the fact that all of them are different and try not to let your stupidity get the better of you before you start insulting strangers on the internet with a burner account.

I understand- this allows them to test the water with small batches of software without flooding the market with used copies. Nintendo are the masters at this, really. The only thing they did wrong this time was to give GameStop exclusive distribution rights to this game. If Nintendo had handled distribution

Oh, I agree that Nintendo couldn't have predicted the high demand this game would receive, but they surely must be kicking themselves for not handling this game's distribution themselves. They have successfully marketed niche games before with very small print runs- the only difference is this time, they can't just

Yes. After a few minutes, I barely even notice that I'm reading along with the cutscenes, and it allows me to play during odd hours without distracting anyone else.

I wasn't referring to Nintendo sitting on anything- I was referring to GameStop. They have exclusive retail rights to the game and they are the ones who are currently hiking up the used price.

Yeah, well I guess it was more popular than Nintendo expected- otherwise they could have given it a proper release and avoided this kind of grey-market mark up that's currently happening just over a year after release.

And in America, it didn't even come out until April 2012. They clearly sat on a bunch of copies when the game was selling slowly and were able to "source" a number of unsold, new copies of the game when it unexpectedly gained a cult following. It sucks, but if anything- Nintendo is to blame for not fully publishing

That doesn't really solve the problem of having to add money to your Nintendo wallet in $10 increments, though. I have a visa card, but my problem is that no matter what- I have to pay $10 to buy an $8 game and then I can't do anything with the remaining $2 on my Nintendo account.

Edited for stupidity after reading the full article :P

I was referring to buying store credit in large increments. The Nintendo e-shops require you to add money (real money) in ten dollar increments, which often leaves you with odd balances when you buy games that are priced at $6 or $8. It's annoying, and I should have been more specific in my initial comment.

I still have like 400 points or something trapped in my LIVE account wallet. I hope some great XBLA exclusive comes out soon so I can finally get rid of that balance. Now if only Nintendo would follow suit, I'd be a happy camper...
