Thanks for the heads up Mike. I'm always looking for any excuse to eat eggs benedict. Even if it means eating it for dinner.

Just Pandora's Tower for me.

I remember watching The Mysterious Cities of Gold waaaay back in like '88 and '89. I'd almost forgotten about it until you mentioned it. I would love to see that show again. I remember loving it as a kid- but after 25 years, I'm afraid it might not hold up...

Kouichi Yotsui was the lead designer of both Osman and Strider. He left Capcom with a few others and developed this game. It's not a rip-off, it's a spiritual successor. Since Capcom obviously still own Strider, the only way he could make a follow up was to build a new character and story line. You should definitely

Fair enough. I can definitely see where that kind of frustration can come from when you're immersed in that kind of creative culture (or creative brainwash) for long enough. I can agree with just about any of his complaints against Microsoft (or yours with Disney). What I can't get behind is his arrogant disdain for

Nope. In nearly 5 years the Sega Saturn never cracked 10 million units in sales. The Dreamcast achieved this goal in under 3 years.

Heh- I thought you were probably making that joke. Well-played :D

Agreed. I actually always saw the N64 logo as an obvious ripoff of this logo. The simple colors, geometric design, and 3/4 isometric perspective totally represented the leap to 3D gaming that the original PlayStation brought to the mainstream gaming community back in the day. What an iconic gaming logo.

Are you trolling? Because most Kotaku editors constantly whine about this logo in every article about the game XD

And that's fine- it's ok to be frustrated at co-workers and an indifferent employer- except he aims just as much vitriol at gamers who buy Halo and Bioshock (two brands he mentions by name). Calling Xbox owners "Chimpboys in backwards caps" doesn't sound like he's mad at MS, it sounds like he resents anybody who

He was definitely insulting the fanbase as much as he was Microsoft. Again, I'm no fan of Microsoft (I generally prefer Japanese games, platformers, and arcade-style games), and I can even agree that MS have set some very low standards for our industry- but at the same time, they've broadened the fanbase of the medium

The hate isn't coming from the fact that he disliked working for Microsoft. I'm sure everyone can relate to hating the office-culture of their workplace. The negative reaction from the comments comes from his pretentious, narrow point of view. He's not really complaining about Microsoft, you see. He's complaining

Get over yourself, Daniel Cook.

Well stated, sir. I feel like a LOT of people complaining about the violence in this game completely missed the artistic criticism of our own (American) culture within the game. I also think a lot of critics make the mistake of trying to compare video games to film or literature and fall into a lazy trap of believing

I feel bad for the development team that delivers an amazing follow-up to one of the most widely acclaimed video games of the generation (atruly monumental accomplishment) aimed squarely at the fans who loved the first game- only to find that this isn't good enough for some critics. Now there's some ridiculous

I immediately saw the similarities, as well :)

Looks more fun than the main Deus Ex titles. As long as they kept the awesome story intact, I wouldn't mind the decline in graphics- and they would probably be able to improve the (lack of) responsiveness in the gameplay immensely. Too bad it's an April Fool's joke, because this is probably the only Deus Ex game I'd

There's nothing worse than an off-balance parfait...

I'm not really interested in this one, so far. Of course I didn't really like Racer, Monsters, or 4am, either. I consider myself a fan of PixelJunk, but their output is pretty uneven. I think it's the emphasis on multiplayer (and the lousy art direction) that's making me skeptical of this title. I'll just have to wait

Finally, a reason for me to dust off my 3DS. Been looking forward to this one for a long time and I'm glad to see it doing well in reviews :)
