Agreed. Devil May Cry (and it's spiritual successor, Bayonetta) are great examples of games that reward multiple playthroughs on different difficulties by altering or diversifying the mechanics in addition to changing up the enemy lineup. Most games just give you less energy/hp and give the enemies more, either that

Hilarious. The way the local news tried to dramatize the whole thing only makes it funnier :)

LOL- thanks. We used to have little hearts next to our names that you could click on to like/follow good commentors, but sadly Gawker has taken us back to the dark ages :(

Sounds pretty bleak. None of those games sounds interesting at all to me, and I'm still waiting on two of this generations early announced games to arrive. Take away backwards compatibility, and a likely shift towards subscription-based service model of game ownership and it's looking more and more like I want nothing

!!! :D

Thank goodness. Maybe this other company who bought them out will have better luck at turning things around over at THQ. But mostly I was just concerned about South Park RPG. It's one of my most anticipated games, and I was starting to get worried about it...

My god... I swear- you guys shouldn't be allowed to post these pics without a link to the parts list and construction information. I want to make one just like it sooooooo bad :(

That was only the estimated street value of the maple syrup after it had been cut with corn syrup and distributed to Canadian dealers. This is still a pretty impressive heist.

Is that real, or is it just a mock up. I would pay big bucks for it.

I like it. A cover by series conceptual artist Yoji Shinkawa would've been waaaaaaaaaay better, but this is an exciting and visually representative piece of cover art that looks cool and will hopefully help them sell a few more copies. I'll probably print out my own alternate cover anyway.

First, please define "(truly) popular". Lots of popular games don't have guns on their cover art.

So pretty much just like the current generation of RPGs?

I try to avoid piracy when possible, but if that's the only reasonable way to play this then I guess I'll have to hunt down a decent PS1 emulator...

I've always wanted this game, but the $300 or higher price tag has always driven me away. Is it still available on Japanese PSN?

Pretty cool. Looking forward to the game, but I still hope they change that terrible box art or at least give us reversible covers.

People are idiots. Fantastic art direction and intelligent gameplay design take a game way further than pure graphical power alone.

It looks pretty bad. Maybe if it wasn't called Streets of Rage I wouldn't be so critical, but that game looked totally unworthy of the name. And with no sound, we'll never know how badly they messed up the incredible musical legacy attached to series.

Wow- those guys did a really great job with this. They also used some great camera effects in addition to the painstaking animation.

The first half of this comic was included free in an issue of EGM or Gamepro I had back in 1993. I was only 11 at the time, but I remember it being pretty terrible. My memories are apparently accurate ;)

I really hope you're right. It would be so nice to be able to play my Virtual Console titles right from the Wii U menu with either the tablet controller or the new Wii U Pro pad. I also really hope that they'll let you transfer all your Wii VC titles to your Wii U digital library seamlessly. Until I find out more
