Nope. We're not talking about the average Nintendo fan, here. This article is specifically talking about the "hardcore" Nintendo fan. The "never-satisfied" gamer. The people who want a Pikmin game, the people who want a proper Mario game.

I never said they had to cater to just the hardcore. I read the article. I'm only responding to his statement about the "never-satisfied" gamer response to the Mario game they announced at this year's E3. I'm sure the game will sell a ton of copies, but my point is that the New Super Mario Bros. series is a distinctly…
That's baby Yoshi. sometimes you get an egg with a premature yoshi and you have to feed him bad guys until he grows into a proper yoshi. They introduced this back in Super Mario World.
I'm sorry, Reggie- but "You better launch with a Mario game" does not mean that they want New Super Mario Bros.
I was just thinking the same thing. I will buy this game over and over again if given the chance :)
November, eh? I didn't catch that release date when they made the announcement. I'll still have to think about it some more, I guess. It's just been such a long drought for good 3DS games, that I'm wondering if Nintendo even cares anymore- especially since they are ramping up for the Wii U release later this year, it…
I love Ghost in the Shell, but these shoes are heinous.
For some reason those look a lot cooler than these blue abominations.
I'm with you, pal. I was actually hoping for a new model with a second nub. I would gladly sell my launch 3DS to put toward a twin stick 3DS- but this just seems lazy. Like Nintendo is totally phoning it in :/
And really, this is all anyone ever wanted (aside from more games).
Just click on the gif and it expands and animates properly :) I don't know why Kotaku previews wreck animated gifs.
Just noticed that both Kirby's Avalanche and Kirby's Dream Course appear in the video in the museum section. I can always dream that they'll make them unlockables *crosses fingers*.
Is this the first time they've confirmed the titles? This is the first confirmation I've seen. It seems solid enough, but I was really hoping that they would include Kirby's Dream Course and Kirby's Avalanche as well :(
Yeah, I feel where you're coming from on an aesthetic level, Kirk. I think I was 5 or 6 when the original TMNT cartoon came out, and while I absolutely loved it- I was blown away when my much older brother (13 or 14 at the time) laughed and said "You should see the how much cooler the comics are". It's impressive how…
When????? I'm seriously on the brink of selling my 3DS and it feels like I've been waiting forever to find out concrete info on this as well as the Layton/Phoenix Wright crossover. Stop teasing me, Nintendo!
Oh yeah, I've seen plenty of the Castlevania game... It's definitely not what I wanted. I was not at all a fan of Lords of Shadow, and I wanted to see the series move away from that hack n' slash gameplay style, so yeah... it looks pretty atrocious to me :(
See my response to tay12On64, I definitely touched on some of your points :)
Well thanks for the list of upcoming games- I definitely forgot about a few of those. I'm potentially interested in Paper Mario (even though I thought the Wii version was awful) and I'm definitely interested in Fire Emblem and Power of Illusion. But the rest of those games either don't interest me (where's Pokemon?…
Hmmm... I forgot about Paper Mario. I hated the Wii Paper Mario, but there's a chance that this one might be good. Otherwise, I don't know what else I'm looking forward to. I haven't even turned the thing on since (the highly disappointing) Kid Icarus. I've had the thing since launch, but there's nothing I want to…
I'm not interested in the Vita until it gets a major price drop. Until that happens or a new hardware variation comes out, I just don't see it becoming adopted by a larger audience. And without a larger audience, I am afraid that we won't see enough great games on it.
