Yoga Nerd, Maybe Dead

Yoga! If I can carve out one hour (plus a little transit time) three times a week I am such a happier person. It’s good exercise. It’s great me-time. It’s a fantastic escape from my mental to-do list and nagging emails from my students. And you get to lay on the floor with your eyes closed at the end.

I have to carve out time to exercise, relatively hard, at least 5 days a week. I get maybe a 5 day grace period of sanity if I stop exercising, and then it all goes tits up.

I go to therapy at least once a month. Before that, I was doing it once a week, but I was able to scale down to once a month over the last year. I meditate a lot while listening to Rush or Zappa and being surrounded with candles. I also cook and bake a lot, even though I rarely eat what I bake and cook and give most

This is something I'm supposed to work on for therapy :/.

The argument is basically just that white gays have completely forgotten that much of the privilege they enjoy was accomplished by riding on the backs of trans women of color.

So where does this leave the many trans folks who identify as gay?

No amount of social media posturing can include you, even tangentially, in the horror of that moment and the accounts of the survivors.

Johnson didn’t help spark a movement for this bullshit. This is literally the attitude hinted at in the movie Stonewall come to

Stop hatin on T

Bullshi.

Super cool. What, may I ask, is the appropriate way to pay homage to the dead in Paris?

I think it’s interesting that people let loose their most flowery language in their over wrought comments and tweets and shit. Listen, you don’t need to bust out “shall” just because something bad happened. You can use your normal words and syntax, it’s ok.

This guy.

God, this.

Ew, that dude is pretty gross.

Because it’s all about him.

Haven’t we always consumed news in memes? It’s just that in the previous era, outlets of mass communication would decide on those simplistic, symbolic expressions of complex events for us, rather than spitting back what is crowd-generated. Social media’s quality and truth-value are proportional to the quality of the

Social media/hashtag activism may not be the most effective of mediums for change but I loved the solidarity I saw for France on my FB feed. It reminded me the support the US got directly after 9/11.
