He should have just been untalented and they would have canned him ages ago.

Her family’s links to slavery is a fictionalized plot point in Mansfield Park. People debate whether that novel suggests she was accepting of slavery or had some abolitionist views (albeit they couldn’t have been too strong or it wouldn’t be a debate.) I am not smart enough to say. Either way she did benefit from it

Yeah, I think the reason a lot of people have such low opinions on success and feasibility of poly relationships is precisely because some people who try it, and are open about it, are just people who want to cheat. And aren’t actually comfortable with their partner doing so.

A lot of these people very much want girlfriends/wives/boyfriends/husbands. People who will provide the emotional support, settle down, chill with on sundays, have family cookouts, take care of them when they are sick or down. All the other stuff of a relationship that makes them worthwhile. And they absolutely don’t

Apparently the brother Anthony is the star of the next season. He definitely does not have the same broad appeal (pun intended) .

I think it’s pretty objectively true that Johnson lit all of Abrams’ plans on fire, burning out all of the possible story threads and ideas. Whether that was a good thing or not is where personal opinion comes into play. Maybe “Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to” was the right way to handle Star Wars.

I believe his name was Derwood.

Obviously no sitcom to film adaption will ever top A Very Brady Sequel or its lesser predecessor The Brady Bunch Movie. Or even Addams Family Values or it’s lesser forbearer The Addams Family. But Bewitched was a pretty great sitcom with a premise that could really work now. So I’m not surprised Hollywood keeps

And really just episodes 1-3 was a homage with other sitcoms thrown in.

I didn’t follow the story enough to know all of that so thank you! I certainly knew the issues with Perlmutter generally but not with Gunn, specifically.

I get that they needed a sort of battle at the end for Wanda. And going against anyone else would have been cake for her. Even White Vision.

Have you read his 2006 Wonder Woman script? How can you claim his sexualization of women isn’t a persistent issue, if you have?

I rewatched AoU for WandaVision and it is true that it is better than I remember it being. But I remember it being pretty awful. I think people take the fact that it wasn’t actually a flaming trash heap to claim it was a good movie. And it really wasn’t. Some really great bits were there (James Spader was perfect as

This is laughable on its face. Not only does it have absolutely nothing to do with what he is actually accused of doing, it doesn’t even correspond to the actual problems plaguing Whedon’s work.

I think the writing focused on things most people actually care about. Not useless information about a family we are explicitly told she isn’t close to.

I don’t see the need for any of that. Maria was her family. That’s all that mattered. She immediately went to find the person that was her family.

From what we’ve seen, Monica and Carol seem to have pretty different takes on heroism. Carol may be empathetic and cares about people but she really has a global/universal perspective. She’s worried about protecting the galaxy not necessarily every individual person within it. But what we’ve seen of Monica she just

But in the movie Monica was the one encouraging her to go and Maria was reluctant.

One of the first things Monica said to him was basically he didn’t deserve the job (he opened with that to clear the air and she agreed with him.) She was “joking” but she’s a straight shooter. She clearly thought he was the last person who should have that job from the first second she saw him. What in the world

Monica and Hayward clearly despised each other from the very first second they saw each other. But were professional about it until they couldn’t be anymore. I don’t see how her calling him a coward, which he has shown himself to be at least twice, made no sense?
